Carbs

Carb back loading, I liked the look of it, tried it, and its working out ok for me. I would say my mass gains have been the best I have seen this year, and considering my training is strength centric that's definitely a positive for me. You can check out my log, if you like anecdotal stories, I stated CBL at the start of this year so you can see how I got on from start to now in there.

Thanks bro, will certainly take a look.

It's changed my perspective of carbs and in about 8-9 weeks (using CBL & CNS) I'm 6KG down and 3" trimmer around the waist with some reasonably filthy back loads.

I'm looking forward to reaching my target weight and using a more structured approach to carbs to maintain a good bodyfat level whilst building mass & increasing strength. I indirectly did this when I first used IF/HST.

Doing CBL is quite a good way to prove to yourself the effect of when you eat, not necessarily what you eat (carb wise).

My backload last night just over 400g carbs (400g sweet potatoes, 1/3rd battenburg, half a swiss roll, croissant with nutella, 5 chocolate digestives, 2 slices of french toast with icing sugar/golden syrup/chocolate spread and a couple of peices of Hersey's chocolate a colleague brought back from America. Pretty shocking looking back at it! but in comparison to my last backload of the same amount of carbs I weighed 1.9KG less before bed and woke up 0.6KG lighter.

I've just stopped bread and beer for a month now and dropped 6KG.

Down from 79 to 73

Run 3x 5-7 K per week and do a few situp that's all really.

Was easy to give up bread and beer don't really miss either and i'm enjoying my trousers not being tight not so interested about my actual weight but my waist size...

Still need to lose another 7KG to 67KG fit my BMI of under 25. I'm 168 CM tall. Pretty sure it will come off over the next 2 months.

Long term I enjoy beer too much to give it up but will only drink if I keep up the exercise if I stop running I'll stop drinking. Not sure how good this is as a diet but can't be bothered reading books and getting stressed about the whole thing if I over think it I'll give up.

Did my first 10K training run last Friday and will do another this Saturday. Now down to 71KG but more importantly my stamina is greatly improved now doing 2X7K runs and 1X10K a week :D really enjoying this health kick. Looked more into MFP but not yet convinced I need to micromanage my diet.

A weighing at night followed by a comparison weighing in the morning gives precisely this much information as regards changes in body composition: absolutely ZERO. All it shows is a change in mass, which in the short term is entirely and utterly meaningless.

You could quite feasibly wake up one day weighing quite a bit more than the previous morning, in spite of a considerable deficit the previous day. You can also wake up weighing LESS than the previous morning, in spite of a considerable surplus the previous day. This can be easily shown mathematically, but there's no need. It's plainly obvious that these day to day mass shifts tell you nothing about what's really happening.
