I read that MS and Sony have said that their games for the next gen consoles will be the same price as current prices but I have been looking at pre ordering Battlefield 4 for PS4 and the cheapest I can find is over £48. I know that other publishers are not tied to MS and Sonys price but the current premium seems excessive.
I'm hoping they come down pre launch but it is putting me off my Pre order for the PS4.

They'll be more expensive at launch, of course, but they'll come down within several months to be closer to what we're used to now.

That's the dilemma, I managed to pre order the PS4 for £315 but don't then want to pay over the odds for games as an early buyer when I could force myself to wait and see what offers might be on at Xmas.
I think the console price is reasonable even at £350 as I paid £299 for my 40gb phat PS3 five years ago.

Where did you preorder for £315? Cheapest i found so far is about £330

I had a 10% off code for an online catalogue type shop, not ideal but it is sign on delivery so hopefully not launched over back fence like some of their deliverys :D
I saw that they said prices would be the same but understood that was only the games the published themselves. Going to get Battlefield 4 whatever as will be nice to play 64 player with commander again but it makes it harder for a tightwad like me to pre order before they release real price, oh and the PS4 order says deliervy on 13/11/13.

I believe most games for Xbox 360 & PS3 have an rrp or £49.99 - although most places don't charge that - so maybe that's where the confusion over pricing is coming from. When Microsoft & Sony say first party games are staying the same price, well technically they are it's just that stores have decided to charge the full rrp instead of the usual £40 or so we pay for current gen. Just another example of stores trying to get every penny we have
