3770K To 4770K, Nice Jump In Batman Arkham Asylum :)

Before I got rid of my 3770K I did a few benchmarks and saw a nice little boost in my favourite game Arkham Asylum, Only parts swapped out are the CPU and Mobo, Just thought I'd share

Rig -
Intel Core i7 4770K @ 4.60 GHZ Previous Was 3770K @ 4.60GHZ
Asus Sabertooth Z87 Previous Was Sabertooth Z77
Corsair H80i With 2 x Corsair 120mm SP Performance Fans
Corsair Dominator GT 2133 MHZ 16 GB With Airflow Fan And Airflow Pro
EVGA GTX 780 SC 3 GB With Backplate @ 1202/3202
Corsair Neutron GTX 240 GB

Looks good, 4.6 on the 4770k is good what voltage and cooling setup are you running?

1.30 on the core and I'm running a Corsair H80i in push pull with 2 x SP 120mm, As low as 27'c idle and I've not seen the temp exceed 65'c in any games so I'm all happy

That doesn't compute.
The 4770K can't give you that much performance boost.

I did indeed, All the same driver and benchmark settings, Resolution etc... Nothing different apart from the CPU and Mobo.

Or any game patches? Stable oc on the 3770? It may not necessarily crash in many cases just stunt perf a little.

No game patches, Everything was the same bar the CPU and Mobo, 3770K was 24/7 stable, I did over the top stability checks on that thing.

maybe its a combo of the 780 being held back and the game scaling well with the CPU, as its not the most demanding game in the world

That just tells me that your old system was bloated/misconfigured. No way you can get that gain from a Ivy to Haswell CPU change if everything else is the same

I don't know what people are moaning about.

I think it shows that haswell is a good improvment in many areas not just CPU only performance...

don't forget you get much faster memory processing/bandwidth with haswell compared to ivy

Because it's not possible to get that type of improvement on something like Arkham Asylum unless there was something amiss previously.

Intel haven't sprinkled fairy dust on Haswell CPU's

His frame rates average has jumped 30%, it's just not happening.

I use a Haswell, and I can see gains over my 2500K, say in DOW II for example, I can break 110 FPS average, that's an extremely CPU limited game, but AA? It doesn't make any sense/compute.

^^ every benchmark ive seen its quicker

in aida64 memory read/write/copy its quicker than my ivybridge at same memory freq

that could be down to faster l2/l3 cache like mentioned above

No my systems are always well configured and clean, Very nice and subtle way of calling me an idiot by the way.
