Cheap..er flights to latin america?

Looking for a return flight to Santiago, Chile for around August time, dates are pretty flexible. From what I can find from flight comparison sites, that would be 850+. Anyone came across cheaper deals out there? maybe direct via some obscure airline?

Stab in the dark, but please halp me GD!

Getting to South America is particularly expensive. The cheapest place to get to is usually Bogota. Maybe try searching separately for flights to Bogota and then onwards to Chile?

Holy crap, forgot about the school holidays and expensive flights... When do prices tend to fall? Haven't had to fly around school holidays for a while now.
