I got this card with my Ultima 9400a Eradicator and it doesnt seem to perform very well....or as well as it should. It struggles in DayZ on medium graphics what fps should i be expecting to get and is there any benchmarks programs you can recommend me so i can find out if my card is doing as it should.

My specs:
AMD FX-8 8350 4.00GHz, AMD 990FX Chipset, 16GB DDR3 1600MHz, 120GB SSD, 2TB HDD, Corsair TX 850w PSU, HD 7970 3GB GFX, OcUK DVD-RW, Onboard Audio, Antec 920 Kuhler Cooler

CPU is overclocked to 4.6ghz

Your cpu is likely bottlenecking you in what is a very cpu dependant game. Overclock your cpu as much as you can and that might help a bit.

I would second the CPU being the issue. I have been playing Dayz on 1 7970 with very little difficulty on high.

Can you monitor the usage of the card and CPU in game to determine?

I never had any other card before this, i had a totally different system. Resolution i try to use 1600x1200. Other games seem to run as they should i mean i can't run crysis 3 on the highest but i can run it on high without AA. Can you suggest a program to monitor GPU?

latest bios for motherboard?

How do i check this?

Go to the BIOS and there will be a version number or similar, probably on the first page, but you may have to hunt for it. Then go to the manufacturers web site, look up the latest BIOS for your MoBo and compare.

Got to be honest i cant see how it would be your cpu bottlenecking, there is definately something not right, try underclocking and then run the games and if that doesnt make a difference then simply return it back to your previous clock speed, try overclocking it slightly and give that a go; also update your drivers and re post back with the results please mate
