As I've got one for my bike license tomorrow. It's been many many years since I've done a theory test and I'm a bit concerned that it won't go too well. I've done a load of mock theory tests online but there's nothing like the real thing.

Any ideas what I should be focussing on a bit more? I know the road signs, speed limits, stopping distances, etc. What else do they focus on in the test?

Well if it is like the car test, lol. I got the DVD with the questions on and every question I had in the test I had seen 5 times on the DVD...So you will be fine.

Did my bike theory a couple of months ago. The hazard perception is basically the same as the car one. Slow OAP-style clicks at every hazard that you wouldn't give a second glance to in real life wins out. There are 1 or 2 'scorable' hazards per clip.
The questions are pretty much the same as car test but with some additional bike related ones, such as which brake to use when slowing in the rain etc. Can't remeber what proportion were though.
You can pratice the questions for free online somewhere.

Did mine (car) in May and was worried because I was seeing the hazards too quick for the training DVD, clicking and getting 0 pts because i was 0.1 seconds too fast, but in the test i was fine.

My advice would be click a couple of times per hazard, once when you notice it and once when you see it developing into something.

Analyze the type of road you're on, it is good indicator as to what type of hazard you'll get, for example country roads are obviously going to have no paths so cyclists/pedestrians and people on horseback are likely to be around and if it is a tight road expect possible cars coming towards you.

Most of all just relax, don't panic and keep your eyes peeled. :)

This ^.

Did mine a month ago & noticed the same thing.

Remember braking distances, weather conditions, all the different kinds of crossings, seating safety & the manoeuvres.

I passed first time, but scored much lower than I did in all of the practice ones (seemed to get 95%+ in the practice - passed with about 85% in the actual (just about).

Just done it and it was a doddle. I did no hazard perception tutorials/training/studying beforehand and scored the strongest there. For my multiple choice I made two mistakes. Very very stupid mistakes to boot :(

Doesn't matter, had sex. I mean passed!
