Disneyland Paris

I don't think you can make the like-for-like comparison with Florida and Paris either, as some people keep suggesting going there instead.

Disneyland Paris you can go to for a weekend, which really is all you need and its very easy to get there from this country. Yes its more expensive, but its still far cheaper than a trip to Florida where you are likely to go for at least a week, thus spending far more on accommodation, eating out and shopping.

I've personally been to Disneyland Paris three times, to Disneyland Los Angeles five times and Disneyworld Florida twice. Paris really isn't as bad as some people have made out, I never saw any pushing in queues and its a very multi-cultural Disney because its not just Frenchies, you have people from all over Europe visiting and even many Brits amongst those working in the resort. As R-evans says above, many rides in Paris are better versions than the other parks simply because they are more modern, Space Mountain springs quickly to mind.

Its ultimately all down to what you can spend and how much time you have.
 
I've done Disney Paris about ten times and Florida twice (the last one was in 2010). Paris is not a patch on the Florida experience in my opinion.

Don't tell the kids but we're currently in the process of booking up Florida again. Having down Florida I would be very reluctant to go back to the Paris park again. On one trip the French cast members just ignored us until we spoke their own language and as someone said earlier, the character meal was just a joke. The last time be paid for the privilege and only briefly saw the character for a couple of minutes and they were characters that we didn't even recognise.

Living very near to Ashford International station makes the journey VERY easy for me buy to be honest, I rather skip Paris, save up and go to Florida.

we went to Paris one Christmas and it was so cold that the water in all the fountains around the park stayed frozen for the whole week. The warmest it got that week was -5.

When the kids were younger they did enjoy the Paris experience but having done Florida now, I simply feel they would get bored quite quickly. There is just so much more to do in Florida and let's not forget the the weather is generally much better as well.

Just keep them quiet, that'll do me :p

The in flight entertainment is "ok", shame the flight got moved from the original A330 to the 747. The 747's are nowhere near as well kitted out :(

The most worrying fact for me at the moment is that the weather looks like it's going to be poor :(

you can sit on upper deck of 747 on virgin in economy class unlike BA... Its much better place than the main cabin, you feel as you are in small plane but its very wide and high, nothing like those claustrophobic 737.

The Orlando route 747s have been upgraded with Vera Touch now too, same as the 330.

Did not know that! Shame the rest of the plane will still be a scabby mess.

I've been to every Disney apart from Hong Kong and I have to say that Paris is the worst of the 4 I've been to, however the castle and Downtown area is better at Paris. Paris unfortunately is less organized, has some rude staff, their space mountain is rough and both parks have queue jumpers everywhere. Disney Studios Park is tiny and can be done in half a day so to be honest the whole place could be done within 2 days. Save up and go Florida :)
