looks really nice

Also the review on the Asus HD 7970 DCUII TOP
"so you probably clicked here to check out the most expensive graphics card that AMD has but i have recently bought this graphics card and i have to some things i would like to say.. 1st and most important is that there is no way in H*ll that this is graphics "card" this is fat as f*ck so make sure you have a lot of space in your pc case. Now what do you expect me to say? what is there to say about a FLAWLESS 3gig graphics card?ITS A GOD TO MAY, if i could wake up to pray for its existence i would!. No but on a more mature level this is the best product for you 100% MONEY WORTH VALUE, never glitches, never overheats if you have the correct equipment to help it, and it plays at a 200% all out graphic madness! if you have the money and you are in to gaming then what are you waiting for? =]"

Hahaha what was that guy on

Yeh the 7970 is £10 more, that's way over budget, I think it looks tidier than the 670. Anyway me thinks you have made your mind up. Good luck, deffo get the 4Gb card for + £14, crazy not to. :D

The 670 being 256bit bus, not a problem @1080 res though so a moot point.
The 7950 being without PhysX and decent 3D (tried both Tridef and 3DVision, vision is so much better)
Actually...memory bandwidth and memory capacity ain't the same thing?

GPU core clock is about pushing the raw performance and upping the frame rate, where as memory clock is about increasing the memory bandwidth, and the higher the memory bandwidth, the lesser impact on performance you would get on using memory intensive stuffs such as higher res texture and higher the use of AA etc.

But yea I do agree with the point about Tridef. I have not tried 3D vision, but I just can't get into gaming on 3D with Tridef. I bought my monitor for 120Hz anyway, the 3D is just a bonus to me so it doesn't matter.

Yeah i know, having the option of 2GB and 4GB memory is why i never mentioned memory capacity as it's plentiful, i also used the above "weakness" as a moot point because he wont be memory bandwidth limited at 1080p.

If you get a chance, try out 3DVision. The image pops that little bit better, takes a few seconds to setup and (for me at least) doesn't give painful headaches within 5 mins of using. If you liked 3D this would be a reason to go Nvidia. It's also the reason i've bought a GTX780 rather than waiting for AMD to show their hands, just so i can use if i want.

Not a bad shout for an extra £10. A clocked 7950 will be faster than a clocked 670 so a clocked (premium brand) 7970 will be comfortably faster.

Just to throw a spanner in the works. :p

I know. I was just being a pain in the ass:D

Its something you have a real talent for. ;)

Still that is one chunky mother of a card , cant say I like it
Im already pushing myself on budget for the 4GB 670 so gotta draw the line somewhere and I think I have found it!

Get what ever card you want. I'm really happy with my 770 Lightnings. Not one issue ever. My problem is I like to try different cards a lot. I've been through 10 gpu's in the past year. 3 of those were 7950. With the new AMD coming I might want to try AMD again, but the other half is telling me to stay put with Nv. I've never had one issue with Nv ever! I still want to wait for AMD they might surprise me? I could care less if it's 2gb or 4gb....

The choice is yours to make.

This thread sounds like you already made your mind up and just wanted agreement :p

The Asus 670 is very nice. I'd take a 7970 at £240 over it any day though.

Well after some positive replys the 670 seems to be right for me :)

Going from AMD back to nVidia I did appreciate getting all the PhysX effects back in my games.

Can't go wrong with either card really.
