I have just been reading various threads. Why so serious?
I forgot - GPU's are a serious business!![]()
At £400 I'd get another 780 no doubt.
Made me think of this

And then that made me remember this I had seen a while ago.

People assume that with price cuts on the GTX 780 and Titan is that they will both still be around.
The only real extra cost of making the Titan compared to the GTX 780 is the extra memory. If NVidia reduce the price of the Titan enough it makes the GTX 780 pointless and obsolete.
Wouldn't that depend on how much they also reduced the 780? I mean, if the Titan fell to 780 prices and the 780 fell to £200-£300 then it would attract the mid end user, but if this happened then I agree the 780 wouldn't be considered a high end card any more.
Isn't the 780 just a failed Titan with less memory?

That picture is so wrong, his head is to big and he has no neck, its giving me the creeps![]()

It all depends how much extra it costs to produce a card with 3gb more vram.
There is not a lot of point having two cards at a similar price point in the market.
The other thing is the GTX 780 does not have anything that makes it stand out against the R9 290X. The Titan has the extra vram compared to the 290X.
Yes that is my point.
Stop bleating![]()

I think I know what you're saying, but surely, and I know this is just speculation, if Titan was to be reduced then surely the 780 would also be reduced otherwise then yes I agree the 780 would be pointless, wouldn't it make sense for Nvidia to lower Titan prices if the R9 290X was matching it for £300 less? wouldn't that make the Titan pointless, obsolete also?
