Batman: Arkham Origins will be developed by Warner Bros. Montreal and released in October, it has been revealed.

The new Batman game, which will be unveiled in next month's issue of Game Informer, will launch for PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U on October 25.

Prior to the events of Arkham City and Asylum, it sees eight of the world's best assassins come together to eliminate Batman.

Featuring enemies such as Deathstroke, it will take place on the "functional" streets of Gotham City on a cold Christmas Eve.

I wasn't massively impressed by Arkham City, but this not being developed by Rocksteady leaves me very cautious. Can only hope they're busy with a next gen entry to the series.

They're keeping the same graphics engine, so at least it wont look all that different. They're very big boots to fill though. Good luck to them

From what Ive had a quick read of WB Montreal were always meant to do games off the DC Comics license back in 2010, but were usurped by Rocksteady and the Batman games. Finding it hard to work out when they picked up this game and so how long they have been working on it.

No one seems to know what Rocksteady are working on - got the feeling it might not even be Batman based...

At least if its a prequel it means they can have the Joker in it. I wonder if they can convince Mark Hamill to come out of retirement and do the voice again.

Can't remember names off the top of my head, but apparently the guy that voiced Ezio in AC2 is doing Batman and the guy who did Booker DeWitt is The Joker. So strange they don't seem to be using Kevin Convoy as Batman, unless it's because it's a younger Bruce Wayne and they wanted a slightly different to ensure to his voice?

Might be avoiding this game, no rocksteady or original voice actors hmmm.....

I was playing the BETA last night, I like it. They got the balance just about right, however, Jokers pistol was over powered. Anyone else played it?

Have to be honest, if it was Rocksteady then yes, but with different devs Ill wait for user opinions first. Just bad timing with next gen out next month...

Will be renting this. Bought Asylum, loved it. Bought City, only just about got through it. Think they tried to add too much open world stuff and just felt a bit clumsy with the combat mechanics and overall physics. I'll probably rent this.
