My new car - S14A Content

Nah im white... (I jokes)

No traction control on it, does have ABS.. so meh :p

I paid £4200 for it.. bit steeper than some, but its very clean, loads of history (every MOT etc) so didn't mind paying for one which wasn't rotten

I like to pass myself off as macho and he-man, but I will admit that I think ABS is absolutely essential on a quick car

Having owned two S14a, that looks very nice and clean. My last one was stage 3a around 350bhp and they are an awesomely fun car. You'll need to be wide awake when driving in these conditions!

Ruin it? You mean have fun in it?

No, I mean ruin it, by making various changes from what it is currently (a clean, tidy, enjoyable car) to make it better at going sideways.

Too many good cars are ruined by people trying to drift them, and either failing, or by modifying them too much.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy drifting and like the idea of it, but I don't like the fact that clean, tidy, RWD cars like the OP's are getting less easy to come by because of the drifting fad taking too many cars victim.

The amount of times ive been asked if i drift mine, when i say no "well you bought the wrong car"

It annoys me to no end.

Totally agree with confused.

I was looking at these a few months ago, i wanted it to be a track & weekend car but almost all the info i could find was about setting it up for drifting which isn't really what i'd be interested in. Sure i enjoy a bit of sideways action on a track day but out and out drifting isn't my bag and it is a shame so so many of them seem to be ruined for the cause of drifting.

It's not a shame at all, and it's not 'ruined'. You'd be doing the wrong thing buying one for grip driving anyway as the rear end has inherently poor traction.

Im going to be using it on the track and drifting but wont be ripping interior out etc as I want a clean car to look after. As above ive found out even with 9.5 inch wheels on the back its a bit tail happy when you dont really want it to be. Just ordered a load of oil and filters for it so going to be giving it a good going over during the holidays. Need to order discs as they are shot but they have bigger db power dics on so undecided if I should go bigger or go for will wood kit

Mine has fantastic traction on the back using ps3's with -1.25 degrees of camber.

Obviously in the wet all that goes out the window but in the dry its a fantastic set up along with godspeed anti roll bars and apex drop links.
I also have full apex adjustable arms (poly bushed ones)

My car is running 280bhp at 17psi of boost (stage 1a)

But like anything like this, you can still get the back out if you want to with ease but you can also keep it pointing forwards as well.
