Thinking about a swap to a CTR, has anyone had both? It's a Leon Cupra 180 that's in good condition. New GY Eagle F1 Assy 2 tyres on the front last summer, passed MOT late last year with only a couple of advisories and will be freshly serviced. It's on 79k ATM and is an '04 reg. would anyone consider a swap to a similar CTR do you think? I know CTR's seem to attract better prices so I was thinking about maybe a 52 or 03 reg CTR with maybe a few more miles.

A bit bored with the LC is all. Had it for two years nearly and fancy a change. Might see about getting it remapped, see if it changes my opinion of it.

Not everyone seems to like coming from a Turbo engine car to a high revving N/A motor, "too much hard work". So it depends on what kind of change you want.

I'd probably remap the Leon, N/A motor will get tiresome after coming from a turbo'd engine.

Just my thoughts.

Drive one. They're as chalk and cheese as possible in hot hatch terms.

I preferred my EP3 over my wife's 180 Cupra in every way apart from day to day commuting comfort. The seats, engine and gearbox were miles ahead in the Civic. Ride was very firm though, and the rear seats are shocking when coupled with the firm ride.

The Cupra 180 felt dog slow to me and the turbo was only just noticeable. Hated the cabin and seats aswell. Just really didn't like anything at all about it.

I would swap a normal Cupra for a CTR within in a heart beat if I had to ever come to that decision.

You checked out the insurance difference?

Things about the EP3 CTR like when you put the seats forward to let someone into the back, and then when they go back they don't go back how they were so you have to adjust them again, will really bug you coming from a VAG car.

This is annoying, so much so that I don't let anyone get in on the driver's side any more!

Even the premier edition is cheap and nasty compared to say...an Audi at the same price point.

Massive difference in quality all round!

Type R vs. Audi. Which do you think will be more fun?

That's the name of the game for the OP.

I'd probably spend some on the Leon, good remap, TIP, 3" downpipe, full exhaust, much better then :)

I'm beginning to think that a remap may not be a bad idea but I'm loath to spend half the value of the car on full exhaust and downpipe. Apparently I can get another 30HP (some places say 40-45 but I'm sceptical) from a remap and 'performance' air filter.

lol a car that is properly fun to drive and that will last for ever vs a bland fest characterless car that you will spend half the time in the garage admiring the million pound plastic leather lined door bin. I know which one I would rather take!

Neither of them. 335d FTW.
