FN2 Civic Type R? Seats fold down and boot is massive. Only downside is that it's 3 door.

Someone mentioned this a while ago and i've actually started taking a liken to.
Toyota Corolla TSport Compressor, Great looking car with 215bhp from a 1.8 Supercharged engine, looks very roomy inside.
Looking around they can be picked up for less than £5k

I've looked at the Megane 225's, and whilst it's fairly impressive stats wise on paper, the looks just aren't my cup of tea to be honest.
The reason for 5 doors and a hatchback is two fold;
Maybe I just need to look at trying to increase the budget from £5k to say £7k. Would that open up more options to me?

- Kids and family need to be able to get in the back without having the hassle of a 3 door with folding seats
- Saloon won't work as I need to be able to get two dogs in the back

You should be able to find an ST220 well within budget. You already own a MK3 Mondeo so you know how practical it is.
The Focus ST will cost a fair bit more for a good one and if you like leather, you'll lose a seat in the back.

They're a 3-door though. As are the normal T-Sports.
(As an aside; it's shocking how much they've gone down in price. Dad bought his secondhand about 3 years ago for £10k, mint condition, and now there's Comps going for £5k... Less for some examples!! He's gutted as it's mostly the numpties that have done too much to the engines and broke them that have driven down the price.)
