There is no lag when I don't have the Cydia tweak DisplayOut present on my iPad. But, if I don't use the DisplayOut tweak I only get 4:3 video and massive black borders on the top and sides, does anyone have a solution?

The Lightning to HDMI adaptor isn't a straight video cable. The iOS device outputs an H.264 signal via the lightning connector. The cable converts the H.264 using an ARM SoC to HDMI and outputs it .... hence the lag.

The video doesn't lag on the TV when DisplayOut is removed from Cydia though. When I remove DisplayOut though I can't have a custom sized display on the screen, it's just a small box on my TV.

They're both jailbroken apps, so who knows other than the developers? If the apps are developed well enough and followed the correct processes they'd be surely be available on the App Store.
