Things you dont care for that most others do ! ?

I would have to go with Football as well. I mean i enjoy a good game and can get quite into it. I don't get the almost religious fanatical devotion to it, surely there better ways to spend time money and energy.

Another one, smoking cannabis, a lot of people's devotion to a drug they still claim it's harmless

Like alcohol when used responsibly it is fine. However smoking a bag a day isn't exactly good for you.

If I may, I would like to try to shed some light on this topic! Recent research on music indicates that the feelings (or lack of) we get from it come from noticing a pattern (such as a series of musical notes), making an automatic subconscious prediction based on that pattern (guessing what notes will come next) and whether that prediction comes true or not. In short, if a song starts, your brain automatically makes a prediction and, if it comes true, you feel good (and thus enjoy the music).

A bit more info here:

I believe dancing is related to the pleasure we get from listening to music. The gratification the brain receives when it predicts the pattern correctly is probably amplified by giving instructions to the body to move in a way similar to that of the pattern and correctly following those instructions (the better you dance, the better you feel about it).

Anecdotally, I can relate to that!

Knowing a song really well, and dancing in relation to it, especially if there are little bits that are unique in each bar or phrase, does make me smile.

Accurately predicting what a track is going to do, having never heard it, makes me feel bad-ass on the dancefloor

I think some people assumed this was in reference to the Irish revolutionary.

I know. And I kind of expected that result. Which is a really sad state of affairs when an astronaut who risked his life to push mankind forward is forgotten in favor of a terrorist.

Brands.

Never understood why people care so much about brands.

If one likes it, get it.
If the quality is good, get it.

"Because it's not Heinz" etc kind of Brand insistence / following is just silly.

Having without effort

Having without effort? I don't mind.

Feeling entitled to have without effort, I hate.

Entitlement was the word I was searching for. I have zero issue with people who through circumstance have been born into wealth or who have had it thrust on to them. That is just one of those things and they are lucky. I have massive problems with people who feel entitled to things without working for them.
