Got your own business?

Was that a general code or unique? I'm just about to sort out some adverts for my paranormal book as it is Hallowe'en.

Think it's just for new accounts, do a search for Adwords voucher

Ah okay, will do. :)

I think a sub forum would be good as long as the e-penis's don't come out. So as long as it doesn't turn into motors it should be fine.

I think it'd be only with the idea of helping others and sharing experiences and expertise.

I own my own business, its split into two, one internet sales one installation. The internet sales took off two years ago and has grown from doing about 50k a year to close on to a million it will be this year. I found using a good search engine optimisation company made me jump over a year from doing relatively not much to getting my keywords on the front page of google for a lot of things so that would be my tip, get a company that knows how to do it and save yourself on the google adwords.

I would be very interested to know who you use for SCO and how much it costs you.

if you dont mind sharing.

Just been playing with out beta/prototype app and marking down changes that are needed before Monday. I fly to London tomorrow night getting ready for Monday's Techcrunch.

I'm bricking it tbh. We have an alternates slot, which means we get called up if anyone can't present or is disqualified. I have an investors pitch, but they give you 6 mins to pitch the app/ business and so I am going to cut the slides to just that (rather than revenues etc) but any input on what I should make sure I cover in those potential 6 minutes?

We might not even get a slot (either way we're at startup alley for both days) but I want to be prepared. Some really great investors going to be there and I'd love to walk away with some follow ups with them, hell, I'd love to walk away with some funding!

*bumhole twitching*

I've got my own consultancy business but it is basically just a one man band.

Ideally looking to expand into other avenues but at the moment with having a small child and work, moving etc I don't seem to find the time to get inspired by new ideas.

Best of luck mate. Would love to hear more :)

Going to try and keep our blog up to date as we're there and the facebook page, too. Try and whore it out a bit. :p

We're still making tweaks and stuff, I'm in mass panic inside as tonight is my last night at the computer, yet CTO seems far too laid back! The things going through my head for stuff to do is endless. I now have a bloody eye twitch as well.

Can you trust me a link as your sig seems to have been modded.

Argh the infamous eye twitch :D. I used to get it after an all nighter/crate of red bull.

Edit: never mind found you. Me likey! Seriously good luck with it mate. Solid idea.

Go for a facial recognition database afterwards ;)

Yes, I own a small building company that specialises in period & high end property.

I'm not sure what anyone would want to ask me in relation to how I operate (on a computer forum!) as most here would be involved in more managerial/IT related fields- my experience(s) is/are probably rather irrelevant IMO unless I'm missing something?!

You're involved in the day to day running of the business I assume. You'd have experience with lawyers and accountants and general admin work. It's quite a learning curve at the beginning so I'm sure of some help :).

I suppose it's harder to avoid disclosing e-peen in motors because generally expensive cars are more in-your-face wealth than guessing someone's financial status from having a business. Unless I told you my wage you couldn't really guess how potentially well off I am, a Ferrari F40 on my drive is a bit more obvious.

I don't own one, that was worded poorly!.

A Ferrari F40 on my drive would be more obvious.

I'll write up something later, off horse racing tomorrow if the weather holds (no, I don't own a race horse either!)

Accounts can be massively skewed as well. Our turnover isn't massive, but equally we're not and never have been in any debt of any kind whatsoever, overdraft or loads. Turnover or even profit isn't the whole story.
