guy martin on ch4 tv

No one watch it last night. Best one imho, and he smashed it.

Yep. That one looked the scariest of the 4 to me, but Guy didnt seem too bothered.

Took a wee ride over to see Guy doing a 24hour mountainbike race yesterday also. 2nd place :) Well done Guy!

Yeah he's pretty calm.

Shame they only started there, why do they only ever do one run, must be a budget thing. He seemed to have plenty of room, so they should have gone higher, and I want him to try the plane one again.

He's got a new program out Sunday 7:30pm

In May 1940, a Mark 1 Spitfire was shot down and crash-landed on a beach in northern France, where it slowly sank into the sand. The wreckage was finally recovered in the 1980s and stored in France for more than 20 years. Guy Martin joins a two-year project to rebuild the aeroplane, revealing the engineering and skills involved, and providing a fitting homage to the bravery of everyone involved in its service

Wahoo new series of speed, starts Sunday on 4 at 8pm

New series. The motorbike racer takes part in four more speed-based challenges and gets his hands dirty in unique engineering projects to discover what makes things go fast. In the first programme, he finds out how far it's possible to travel on a bicycle during 24 hours of non-stop pedalling. With the help of bike experts Miles Kingsbury and Mike Burrows he builds a tandem, and pairs up with his friend, endurance expert Jason Miles, to see how far they can push their bodies. In the build-up to the final record attempt at the historic Goodwood Motor Circuit, Guy also learns about the science of cooking for athletes with nutritionist Nigel Mitchell, who instructs him to lose five kilos and recommends a new diet regime

Hmm, three wheels and enclosed environment? I'm sure it was hard work, but compared to the US guys' achievement it pales in comparison!

Next weeks is going to be awesome though!

Yeah, guess the record is just a '2-man pedal driven vehicle', but considering they 'only' beat the previous record by 61 miles given their advantages the US one is insane :p

I liked it, considering the weather and how much they beat the record by, I can't see how you can say the others was so much mire impressive.

Well the yanks had to stay upright for a start. Then they had far superior air resistance to fight against. Correct me if I'm wrong but it didn't seem like they did it with a team of professionals around them. Also they didn't stop whatsoever I think.

Still a great achievement and I enjoyed the episode but I think they should have recognised they had it easier than the yanks. They only beat it by 60 miles too which is only 10% of the 24 hour period.

One bit that surprised the hell out of me was that it took 20 minutes to change the wheel! I would have thought they had that routine down to a tee.

If what they did was completely within the rules, then it's a bit stupid of the yanks making it so difficult for themselves. If you were trying for a 100m world record, why would you tie one leg behind your back?
