same as most other hostage situations to make a list of public demands that have to be listened to/responded to.

its a busy location with lots of civilians (mostly western/tourists making international) right across the road from the channel 7 TV station, so ideally im guessing this was meant to be quick and end up filmed/on air before the police intervened and he chickened out and is now panicking.


if it was a Robbery why walk in with a terrorist flag and take hostages?


And cafes are quite common targets for terrorists HAMAS/Palestine has blown up a few,m low security and lots of people in one place.

As stated it is opposite the TV centre. Also as a lone gunman you need a space that will be busy with people but easy to contain on your own.
 
Odd how the Hostage taker isn't directly issuing the demands.

Also she stated if I understand correctly an ISIS flag to be sent to them, did she mean to them at the shop?

Sounds like the hostage taker isn't very clued up tbh. This could end very badly for him.

It is just a very odd situation, the mumbai and mall attacks were simple "lets go and kill everyone" style attacks,

then you have the suicide bomb attacks which work under the same principal.

This way of hostage taking has never worked out for the party/people involved, the demands rarely get met.

I can't understand what he is trying to accomplish other than he wants a real flag not a dodgy one that he has and want a powow with a PM so he can spout his religious ideals.
 
Why would you show your hand so early and say you had hidden bombs....sounds like a bluff to me. if you can't even manage to make a flag I doubt you have made bombs.

He's n00bed out here I recon...

He probably learned his terrorism off the internet, whereas the Mumbai ***** were real ones.
