Corsair 240 Air - window clarity

Hi - question for any Corsair 240 Air owners, are your side windows completely transparent / clear? I got this case for Christmas and upon building it notice at some areas of the panel are not completely transparent and appear fuzzy. Just trying to figure out if this is the norm or if I have a faulty side panel!

Ive had quite a few issues with the side window on my Corsair 650D, the original one that came with the case was warped and had fine scratches. The replacement for that one turned up heavily scratched and looked a bit foggy when you looked through it, the 3rd one that turned up was so laughable you wouldn't believe. The whole window panel was actually damaged, the metal was bent and part of the panel was dented, i only needed the side window but couldn't use that as it was too badly warped. This wasn't done during shipping as the part that was dented was sat inside a foam insert and can't be dented when it's in that, it looked like a damaged customer return to me that somehow they had shipped out as a replacement.

I'm not asking for another, ive started searching for a new case and i'll rebuild my components in a different case (Not a Corsair). It seems to me based on my own experiences and the ones above that they have got issues with whoever is manufacturing there side windows.

I've seen quite a few complaints about Corsair cases, seems their QC isn't the best.

Many of the complaints are from this very forum, but also seen issues posted elsewhere too.

Perspex is utter sh*te that's why! Manufacturers should be using quality acrylic, but I can't see it happening due to cost implications. If you want a QUALITY panel, make your own, that's the only way. I have seen some modding sites selling pre cut acrylic panels for some cases though.

Just received my second replacement panel, crushed in that the corner again! Packaging was undamaged, so have to assume it was damaged prior to dispatch. Corsair are sending a 3rd panel out to me, but have advised they cannot check the panels for damage prior to dispatch.
My confidence is low, but will just have to keep trying until I get an undamaged panel I suppose! :(

That's a bummer, Matty. Sorry to hear that, I understand that its such an inconvenience to have multiple replacement without getting the problem resolved.

I'm assuming you've got a ticket already for those replacements right? if so, did you happen to attach photos in your ticket? Reason is, I can use those photos and present it to our QC and let them know that there some units slipping through their nets and that needs to stop. If there are no photos attached, I'd recommend that you do and send me the ticket # or post it here so I can check it myself.

Thanks Greybeard, I have found the actual RMA process to be first class, the replacement panels have arrived within a couple of days, it's just a shame they are damaged on arrival!
My Corsair Customer Service ticket number is 6569050, pictures of the damage are attached to the ticket.

Mines just fine...

Built a new gaming system into a Corsair 240 Air over Christmas and the side window is clear as a bell. Let's see how it lasts!

Greybeard, like Matty said the process of getting a part to you is very good, it's quick and smooth.

The problem isn't with the RMA procedure, it's the quality of the replacement parts that Corsair are sending out and the manufacturing of the side windows which in my experiences have been poor and that's putting it kindly.

Here's my last experience with Corsair of trying to get a side window that isn't heavily scratched or warped

That 650D side panel is supposed to be perfectly straight, scroll down to the bottom of the page and you'll see what i'm left with.

Thanks for bringing that up Matrix. We've actually used that thread to show George (Case Product manager) that there are units in the field that are in bad shape when customers receives them. George is already on top of this, and currently in touch with our QC team over in Taiwan to make sure that we prevent this from ever happening again.

This is the reason why encourage you guys to provide us as much feedback as possible so we can catch issues like this early on and avoid more bad replacement units being shipped out to our customers.
