I've been doing some work on the house and I found a piece of old newspaper yesterday from the 1st of February 1975 (I could not have got closer to 40 years if I tried!!) under the floorboards that happened to contain the Motor listings of its time.

This is from my local Evening Star newspaper in Ipswich.

I wish cars were this cheap these days :)

I found it interesting that people included there full address in the advert!

Nobody seems to mention the mileage in the adverts. Did nobody care then?

Or the level of trust back then was too damn high? :p

I used to buy a lot of cars back then for about £50, run them for a few months. A £70 Ford Zodiac Mk III was the best.

The 5 year old 2+2 E type at £1450 caught my eye, wish you could get one for <25k now.

I'll take the 5 year old Aston Martin DBS V8 for £3000 pls.

Edit: inflation adjusted thats only £22k in 2013? wut.
