BF Hardline - AMD cards getting panned (not by much)

I tried the beta on my overclocked 7950. The game felt very smooth and was between 55-60 fps most of the time on ultra settings. The frame times looked pretty decent in MSI afterburner so can't complain.

Maybe it does get bad on higher resolution but who knows whats happening with a beta version. There could be a number of reasons for the higher frame times including server pings, etc I wouldn't base my buying decisions on just one game thats for sure.

Ran fine on my 7950 on Ultra aswell. I dunno why this is even being talked about, just another excuse for an Nvidia vs AMD thread.

You guys must have nothing better to do with your spare time

Impossible ^^^^^^^^^^, thats more than [H] say a 290 gets! :D

Frame Rates are the big Green numbers in the top right hand corner, Youtube can't really distort that now can it?

I guess you have just got out of bed, as you clearly haven't read what [H] are on about. They don't question where the frames are at and mention how badly the frame times are for AMD hardware. Get some Coffee and have a read :p

Yes that video is far from smooth, stuttery as ****

Although I find it rather funny how you don't find that video to be smooth Greg yet with this 30 FPS video (that was stuttering away just as bad as shanks video) for dying light on 970 sli, you found it to "look very smooth" lol........

That vid was a lot smoother than Shankly's vid. Night and day difference.

Not for me, could be your nvidia drivers playback maybe?

Yer, no! :D

And Youtube is no representation of that, that is what Greg was trying to pull off.

Well it can be, if the fps is that high yet the image is still stuttery then something is causing it. The mantle videos with low frame times looked perfectly smooth on youtube.

Agreed. I even said how smooth Mantle looked (on youtube vids) and the only thing I could pick up on was tearing. Other than that, Mantle in BF4 looked nice and smooth.

No point getting all upset over this anyway, as it is a Beta and sure, it ran much better for nVidia in the Beta than it did for AMD but the release game will have Mantle, so all good for AMD once again :)

There are a couple of hitches in it right at the start but i don't see any of that beyond that point.

hitches like that at the start are usually indicative of drive caching on starting the recording. nothing to do with the game

I have logs from the GTX970 in single and sli aswell as R9-290 and R9-290 CFX if anyone is interested in taking a deeper look ;)

1080P Ultra, 1440P Ultra and 4K Medium

Frame times, CPU and GPU (perfoverlay.logframetime)

I can't see them on your site bud? Are they there?

Shanklys vid does look stuttery and jumpy, But i had this with Humbugs vid of mantle too which looked stuttery in bf4 and mine was silky smooth viewing in youtube 1080p, so maybe there is something going on viewing vids on nvidia and amd cards.

Getting panned? Where? I see the 290x between the 970 and 980. Nothing to see here move along.
