Proposed launch in Sept: Info here

Only rumours:

  • Z5, Z5C & Z5 Ultra
  • SnapDragon 820
  • 4GB RAM
  • 4500mah battery
  • fingerprint scanner
  • type-c USB Port
  • QHD Screen

I love my Z3, don't "need" a QHD screen, but with a 4500mah battery why not have it i guess? Z3 had a 3100 mah.

Biggest frustration for me is the low volume of all things Sony to protect my hearing! Not looking to upgrade yet, but maybe in time...

It's not impossible?

Its basically the same LG G Pro 3 proposed spec, and no doubt similar to whatever Samsung releases next, so i don't see why it's so far out?

The battery spec is a bit tall, but the rest is starting to become pretty ubiquitous now.

It would also align with previous Z flagship releases...
 
QHD shouldn't be on anyone's wishlist. Who likes poorer battery consumption, dimmer screens and poorer graphical performance?

Flashes red for me as far as the source goes.
Especially combined with all the leaks pointing to a new design.

i agree with that. Even 1080p seems a bit mad on a 5" screen but at least it's a video standard so it's worth having for that
 
Having been in the "forum game" for 18 years it's saddening that the days of sharing thoughts, ideas, and constructive commentary is no more. Pretty negative experience nowadays.

I agree the omnibalance is questionable, what with others suggesting otherwise, but least we can drop all updates in one place now (which is what I thought the point of these anticipation threads were all about?). Will it be the final spec? Good no, feasible but unlikely to be 100%. Almost a copy paste of the LG leak, so clearly there will be phones on Q4 with most of those specs though.

Be good to hear from you negs shutting concepts down what may be possible and why?
 
Pug has a point. If we couldnt use these threads for the hype and rumours then we might as well never have threads for anything until launch day... Goodbye to a lot of discussion...

This goes for other things like games, hardware etc...Whats the point of these forums then?

The only real reason they're of no benefit is if the eye can't detect a difference. The other reasons will all be fixed with progression, and are just teething problems of the technology. Apple had all of these issues when they put retina screens on Mac books, but now they're de rigueur.
 
If they want me to "upgrade" then they have to either add back the magnetic charging that was dropped with the Z4/Z3+ or add QI wireless charging...

I would say I would like a better camera, but it's the rubbish software holding back the Z3 not the camera itself, so hopefully we get new camera software with the Z5.
