Boom, 153km training ride done this morning. Just under 1000m climb so pretty flat, my mates going over to the states doing full ironman in two weeks so it was his last big ride before he goes.

2 hours easy then 3 hours of efforts/easy. Averaged 198w, weighted 218w and 30.7kmh, only stops were toilet breaks. Got through three jam sandwiches, muesli bar and a gel, th pace wasn't too bad, he was on his TT so I hung onto his wheel when doing efforts.

The four hours I did last weekend was much harder with lots of hills. Got some pretty good form at the minute. :)

Naughty red light goer througher(?)

I set off on a 109mile ride this morning. Got 2 miles before I decided I wasn't in any fit state to do it. Will go out again in a bit and do something else.

Heading out for a quick fasted 20 miles in a moment. Not really feeling inspired route-wise though. I'm pretty bored of all my normal haunts.

I've not been out all week due to an awful cold. I hope it goes by Monday, as I'm planning o ride out to see the Tour of Britain which will be an 80odd mile round trip, which won't be any fun if I'm ill!

Ooh, I've been driving to my parents on the m56 which, as you will all know, goes across to North Wales. I've seen team vehicles for Etixx Quick-Step, Tinkoff Saxo and Lotto Jumbo, presumably heading off to tomorrow's Tour of Britain start. Exciting times!

I'll be heading out next Saturday to see them come through one of the local villages. Seems that they are making a real event of it which is great for such a small village. Drove through the other day and there are loads of decorated bikes lining the route.

Finally think my knee issues are over the worst, been commuting and feels fine plus just had a check and sports massage confirming most muscles are fairly loose again. Gotta take it easy though and slowly build up to longer rides.

Have just reached final hotel in Corsica with nothing more left to do but pack the bikes and hit the pool and beer!

In short, 484 km, 6222 m elevation, over 5 rides, all in 28-35 degree C heat!

Home tomorrow, job done and feeling proud!

Tales of the workshop...

Initially checked it was plugged in properly and not in the crash protection mode as the rear gears weren't shifting.

It's the older style di2 so the junction box has two wires attached. I thought I'd swap the shifter wires to see if the proplem followed the wire, if it did then it was the wire, if not it was the shifter. Went to plug it into the left shifter and it wouldn't reach...looked into why and saw this.

£64.99 of your finest please!

Somehow I managed to get a puncture... on the turbo... on the front tyre. Go me.

In other boring news I'm currently debating whether it is worth getting a Garmin 500 when Aldi knock them out for £79 (assuming I can actually get one that is) to replace my 200. I've got a speed and cadence sensor now that I can only use on the turbo. Speed sensor would be useful for the MTB and elevation data for Norfolk is just plain wrong so the altimeter would be handy ;)
