Cripes. I've just seen someone using Eris's Calcified Fragment quest scout rifle. I didn't think it was possible to get it yet.

I think it was possible since the raid came out. The only ones I don't have are some of the latter raid fragments and a tier 3 court of Oryx we haven't seen yet. There's 3 more that are unknown locations too.

I managed to snag a 300 light shotty from a legendary engram. Was pleased with that, it's got arc damage and causes severe carnage albeit it's got a very slow fire rate and reload. Will keep it for time being but may infuse it later on with my silentpiercer sniper, which I absolutely love...reminds me of the time and patience exotic sniper...makes a nice 'thok' sound. At the moment it's 295 light as ive infused it with another higher rated weapon which I wasn't too fond of ie fusion rifle. Only fusion rifle I like is Telesto which is a hella lot of fun.

I have just started playing this, well started a little while ago but didn't get into it but this weekend I managed to complete (I think) the story and loads of other stuff. I am now at Lvl 19.

So what am I missing? I think the Raids are unlocked at 20.
What is the classes about? I keep seeing things like Warlock and Titan class?
There are also items I cant buy unless I have those classes.
What do the weird coins do?
I "think" I have seen sparrows that can fire, I found a tank sorta one in the story but not seen them to buy or upgrade?
When playing a strike I had 2 other players that had awesome looking ships! How do I get one of them?

Sorry about all the question but loving the game and it only cost me £8!!!
I did 2 strikes yesterday and enjoyed them a lot!

Lowest level raid is the Vault of Glass on Venus. That's level 26 for easy mode

Kings Fall raid is level 40 (and requires The Taken King expansion)

See here for explanation of the different classes: http://destiny.wikia.com/wiki/Guardian

Strange coins are used to buy exoitic weapons/armour from Xur. He is only around from Friday - Sunday and his location changes each week

Ships are rewards for completing certain activities or can be bought from the Shipwright at the tower

You've completed the vanilla story. Get yourself all the DLC (Dark Below, House of Wolves and The Taken King), you'll open up an absolute ton of stuff to do that's loads of fun.

The Vault of Glass opens up at 20 but you need to be a minimum of level 23 to do normal mode (28 recommended), and 27 to do hard mode (30 recommended).

You picked a class when you started, either Warlock, Titan or Hunter. There are 3 classes, each with 3 sub-classes. A lot of players (myself included) have one of each class.

There are also items I cant buy unless I have those classes.

Strange coins are used to buy items from Xur when he arrives every Friday (he stays until 10am Sunday morning). Not much else beyond that.

You can only have sparrows. Some other drivable vehicles can be found in missions or patrols, but you can't own them.

Ships can drop from engrams or as mission rewards. Some can also be bought from Amanda Holliday, the shipwright.

Don't apologise for asking questions. Apologise for not getting the game sooner :p

How many are you up to then?

These are called Pikes and appear in various story missions and strikes. They are a weapon of the race known as the Falllen and don't belong to the guardians.

As such you can't own one or upgrade your sparrow into one. You can just hop on one if you see one lieing about.

I seem to be stuck at 287 light. All engrams that have dropped over the last few days have been lower light than i currently have :/

just keep going. Engrams will drop anything from 20 below or 20 light levels above your current light level.

You will get 290 + engrams if you get enough. Remember to equip or infuse them to keep your light level going up. The higher you go, the higher level potential the drops can attain.(up to a max of 300)

Up to 43 now: https://calcified-fragments.herokuapp.com/xbox/evilphog

Good website to help find them all - although obviously has spoilers if you want to find them all yourself.

It's a grind for sure. Protip for all: Only collect the fragments on your "main" character, as they are tracked on your account like ghosts. So if you get 5 on your "main" and then 5 others on your 2nd or 3rd character, the tracker will show your total as 10. Hence, it can be very easy to lose track of the 45 you need for the ToM quest.

To top it off, you need to grind more damn Hadium Flakes to upgrade it! Although, I've heard that being in a raid "aura" means you can fire the last round infinitely without dying, I'll try it out tomorrow :)

Anyone else feel like the ToC has been nerfed in more ways that they have implied. I have used about 8 or 9 on strikes and not had a single exotic. Before I was getting a 1/3 ratio at a lot of the time.

When you say you need 45 of them for a quest, do ones collected outside of that quest count towards it? As I've gotten a few since handing in Eris Morn's quest to collect 5 of them :( And had also picked up 2 initially when you get the automatic quest to take one back to her (very start of the quest line).

EDIT: Also, if you lose track of them, you can still find out which ones you're missing just by looking at your Book Of Sorrow section in your Grimoire. Each fragment on the Dreadnaught has a specific Grimiore entry attached to it which is handy. I think it would have been absolutely evil of Bungie had it been randomised... :p

I used 5 in strikes yesterday and got 1 exotic (Invective), so that's about normal for me so far.

It's 45 in total you need, doesn't matter where you got them.

I don't think so, if you got 1 in 3 you were incredibly lucky. Farming before the nerf I got 1 in 8 and I think most people on here were around the 1 in 5, 1 in 7 area.

Yes they all count. Once you hit the thresholds for each of the quests you are prompted to visit Eris from the director screen. It's just that first one you have to get 5 following picking up the quest.

I've not finished the raid yet so haven't been able to complete the second quest, but have done the third quest (as I collected enough fragments). I presume I'd need to complete all of the quests before I could get the Touch of Malice, though.
