Has Micro$oft crippled IE (Or is it just me?)

Over the last couple of days IE seems to have slowed right down.

Other browsers seem just fine.

Has M$ crippled it to "Encourage" people to use Edge??

(I probably will in due course, but I resent being forced too )

(More to the point, how does one transfer ones "credentials" from IE to Edge?)

Thought I was back in 1995 when you said "Micro$oft" and "M$".

Tried disabling any addons?

I am only using IE out of idleness (a number of saved passwords and all that)

It has always been fine for what I have wanted to use it for. It is just that in the last 48 hours I have suddenly found my self able to go off and make a cup of coffee while pages load.

Everything else still works fine. :/

Oh and PS

Thought I was back in 1995 when you said "Micro$oft" and "M$".

I am nearly 60! that was only a couple of years ago :D

I didn't know anyone used IE anymore..
I assumed Microsoft released "edge" because they finally decided to cut their losses on IE as it's name is too deeply soiled to ever recover it.
If I were you I'd change browsers, I've always been a Firefox fan. Never had any issues with their browser through the years.

I use IE quite a lot at work, can't say that I can fault it really.

I used to swear by chrome but for some reason slowed down when using Google stuff (gmail, maps and youtube) and doesn't support silverlight. I now use Firefox, it seems to be the best all rounder.

What the above guy said ^^

Not used IE on a home PC since 2002, when Netscape got open-sourced as Mozilla/Firefox.

I don't understand why we still have to use IE at work :( I do like Windows as an OS though (except for Millennium lol). Just never liked IE or Windows Media Player.

Yeah, that's around the same time as they crippled IE :p

I occasionally have to fire it up at work for compatibility issues and every time I'm instantly reminded why I avoid it like the plague!

Yes it's an evil plan to make you use Edge but resist as it's still a long way off being a replacement.
