Very Slow Internet on Windows 10

I have had problems with my BT Broadband. I had very slow speeds for a month. I tried so many different things to fix it but it suddenly reverted back one evening for no reason.

Now I have upgraded to Windows 10 this problem started happening again. I tried updating the wireless and ethernet drivers and then uninstalled NOD32. Nothing helped so I reverted back to Windows 7 and it returned to normal. I'm not sure what happened and whether there is a way to get my Internet working fast with Windows 10.

Thanks.

My motherboard is an Asus P8Z77-V LX Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) and my wireless card is an Asus PCE-N53 300Mbps Dual-Band Wireless-N600 PCI-E Adapter.

There are no new drivers on the manufacturer's website. I mainly use wireless which has been fine but have an ethernet cable for troubleshooting and the problem still persists no matter what connection is used

Thanks.

I have just tried the wired connection and it works fine. I'm now assuming that it has something to do with my wireless card but do not know where to start.

*bump* I rolled back to Windows 7 as I waited for a solution to this problem.

A driver update was released for my wireless card a few months ago for Windows 10 so thought I could try getting the newer OS again.

I did and the problem was slightly better. I could browse the web but my internet would stop working when a video or online game was played. Not only was there this problem but Windows 10 frequently crashed which made me roll back to Windows 7. I thought my system could handle it. Would I need more RAM?

Intel Core i7-3770K 3.50GHz
HIS HD 7950 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
TeamGroup Elite 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz
Dual Channel Kit

Thanks.

Nope, more ram is not the answer to your problem.

However, I have seen plenty of grumbling about windows 10 and z68/z77 chipsets and I don't know what the answer is. :(

Thank you. I like Windows 7 but I was just hoping to get the problem sorted while Windows 10 was free!

I think you should invest in a newer wireless card i was just reading some reviews on the forest and it does not make for good reading:)

Since you mentioned the onboard lan being problematic, I googled your board and found it was Intel. I would have thought that would be rock solid?? Did you get the latest drivers rather than relying on whatever is built in to windows itself? A quick google got me here...

edit: just realised there are conflicting posts on how well onboard lan works. :p

Was this with a clean install of Windows 10? It's been stable for me on my Z68 board.

I don't think I've seen any wireless adapter, via PCIe or USB, properly work with Windows 10...

Thank you for your replies. I have tried downloading wireless card drivers instead of using the ones that come with Windows 10. Even if I was to get the internet working fast, I still think the whole thing is very unstable and frequently crashes which is very annoying!
