Caught on CCTV: Moment woman attacks member of the public

I can't believe this is still being discussed. There are still those that believe the driver scum despite him being abused by the old guy and physically attacked by the woman. He's hit out and beat a hasty retreat, the fact that the woman tried to punch him, the old guy is clearly having a go at him, the fact that he nearly rips his car door off... None of that is a problem but the driver is somehow subhuman scum.

He's been judged without having done anything by what he's driving and what he's wearing. How understanding of you all. I reckon if you asked them many females would agree that if they were to attack anyone they'd expect the same back.

Lastly, the idiocy of someone physically attacking someone much younger, bigger and stronger than them blows me away.

And some will agree with you and others won't.

I don't disagree with anything you've observed but I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned a major element of the incident - words.
When the young bloke pointed at the old bloke we have no idea what he said to make the old bloke go at him and then the same with the woman, what was said for her to have a punch at him?
For me there's only been half a story with both of the videos.

It doesn't matter what was said. I would bet the driver wasn't being nice but it doesn't give the old man an excuse to react how he did and that woman to try and punch him.
 
The old couple started the verbals off anyway but that's irrelevant IMO. Words are words, physicals are different.

Of course it matters, if it goes to court the incident won't be judged on just visuals no matter what you think.

If you're ever up for an assault charge in the future, try and use that the other person said horrible things to you as a defense and see what happens. No on will care. When I was in prison there were loads of people in there for punching someone because someone got mouthy and aggressive with them. It doesn't make any difference.

You can't get physical with someone because of words (like the old man did). The law won't be on your side.

It can lessen the sentence though and I know 3 cases where people I know were involved.
For instance I know somebody doing 10 years for murder but witnesses had heard the victim saying bad things about him. He had been raped at 18 and this bloke was bringing all that back. The Judge said it would be 15 years but dropped to 10 because of the circumstances.
A mate (actually an old lurker member here) was involved in a verbal argument where the guy put him in a coma. He got less years because my mate had aggravated it.
The third was similar to the second and his attacker only got a fine.

Having just watched it for the first time just now I disagree.

They are all as bad as each other. From the driver almost running them over initially when parking (is that even a parking spot?!), to the attitude of the man and woman for his driving, to her trying to punch him and then him punching her.

I wouldn't call him scum, but he's clearly an idiot, just from his driving. At the same time what was that woman thinking taking a swing at him! While he shouldn't really have punched her it was probably an automatic reaction and seems reasonable in that situation. At the same time he should probably have stayed put when it became obvious she wasn't getting back up, which made the actions of the other man trying to stop him leaving seem reasonable as well.

So yeah, idiots the lot of them, turning bad driving into that show.
 
More than 2-3 feet at that speed. It would be a combination of distance and speed. He was going way too fast turning on to a pavement, especially with two people having just vacated the location he was turning into. That's just bad driving.

Perhaps it's just a pet peeve of mine, people taking blind corners (like into side roads) and crossing paths like that way, way too fast.

Nah not at all his driving isn't to be commended. Although I don't think I'd have noticed the car at that distance.

Have got a link to the case where he got ten years? I think the minimum a judge can give is 15 for anyone over 18 years old.

Bill Hives linked a second one where there is a CCTV pointed from up an alleyway (the one I've zoomed in on above).
Therefore he was blocking an alleyway which is where they must unload.
