Applogise if ive incorrectly posting this in the wrong section. Its been a few years since ive been on this forum

Looking to build a gaming rig for low to mid level gaming ie mine craft for my son and city skylines for me primaraly on one maybe two screens. Currently have a 21" lg hd screen but its getting on so for now ill use it but guess theres better out there now its about 5 years old

Looking at either the
X99-ud4p and going with a i7-5820k
Or
Z170x-ud3 and either i5-6600k or i7-6700k

Then going with following hardware
Coolermaster v750 psu
8gb ram 2133 or 16gb if comes in under budget
Coolermaster 212x or h100i
Samsung t1 250gb ssd for os and main software
Some form of hdd of around 500gb
Sapphire radeon r9 380 4gb
Cooler master mastercase 5
Cooler Master CM Storm SGB-3030-KKMF1 keyboard and mouse

Any sugestions or even swap any parts out for something ?

Cheers

For your usage x99+5820k could be overkill. Z170+6600k would be better balanced to your needs and save some money which you spend elsewhere, such as 16GB ram and a larger HDD for more storage.

16GB ram will make your system more future proof. No need for ultra fast ram, but get 2400 Mhz minimum.

1TB HDD is the sweet spot current for price per GB. You'll likely fill up 500GB faster than you think.

There might be some better case options, depending on whether quiet computing is important to you or not (eg the Fractal Design cases). Check out the Case section of the forums.

Because thats on a website that i have some money on (loyalty based points)
The mothor board is £191 and can get a 5820 for £280
Makes £471

I was leaning towards the 66/6700 option but wondered which would be more furure proof for future options
I have a 320gb for os and a 500gb hard drive in my current system. And i have used less than half of the gb space
So thinking add a ssd for the os and main system software

And again your right 16gb is going to be better.
I thought 66/6700 was 2133mhz max any how?

I saw this case and it does 3 front fans 2 rear fans and two top fans if i decide to go water cooling in the future be it closed loop or custom setup.

Helped me make my mind up a little better

The mothorboard is £113 on the website with my points and gold member discount
Didnt have the coolermaster psu but its same specs

Many of the boards will run faster RAM and all you usually have to do is set the XMP profile in the BIOS to get the correct speed.

2133Mhz just happens to be the "standard spec" set out by a group called JEDEC that all manufacturers then base their hardware on so all the signalling and volts etc work.

Thanks, yer been a while since ive messed with building pcs

So here is the list i have and also there the best 3 motherboards thy do
