BBC Top Gear - Series 23 discussion thread

Knowing the BBC they will keep Evans and get rid of MLB. Then wonder why viewers drop to under a million.

They were told before it even started that Evans was a bad idea, but like the EU, they just don't listen to what people are telling them.

Yep Evans needs to go... were 5 episodes(well not even 5 full ones yet) he's not working, dosnt suite the position, hasnt adapted and is still the defining low point of the new top gear, he's had a ample oppeertunity.

MLB works, he works well, i was a bit iffy at first but he has settled into his role very very well, and if he can get the correct co-star will see Top Gear live on for a while.

Chris Harris, well goes without saying he's a good fit, always enjoy his features, i reckon he'd work very well along side Matt, i think when he settles in he'll do well in the studio segments despite being a little wooden at the moment.

Matt seems so comfortable in his role

I like Matt, he's cool and seems to fit in well in whatever role he plays on screen. Enjoyed the Rolls segment too and I'd agree, I'd take new, if only for the umbrella holster.

I thought the Chris Harris M2 segment was good... apart from the cheesy even for Top gear standards "science bit" with that helmet with wires combined with the rather awkward script Harris was made to speak out. It just felt un-Harris.

Yes on his usual Harris on cars videos he looked and it felt like he ran the show, commanded captained the script and direction. But in TG he just feels like a host employed by a big corporation doing what he's told... Which he is now.

It's a shame., I think this will be the downfall for Chris Harris' rise. What made him truly unique is no longer there, and I do not think his own web show on the TG website is going to change any of that due to the above.

Wow Harris was very odd trying to jazz up his segment with jokes and gimmicks. Many cringes.

Matt was good on the Rolls segment, got a few smiles.
