Don't have a clue which car to go for next

Just looking for suggestions on my next car. I currently have a Ford Mondeo 2.2 TDCi Titanium X Sport which I had remapped. It still has HP on it so I'll need to settle that and then sell it.

I love the car but I'm looking for something a bit newer. Must be having a mid-life crisis :D

My budget's around £350pm with a £2k deposit. I'm not fussed about owning the car outright so a lease or PCP deal would be ok. It would need to be around 10,000 to 15,000 miles. I think I probably do about 12,000 a year so it may be cheaper to pay for a 10,000 deal and pay the excess mileage charge rather than go for a 15,000 deal.

And petrol, want to move away from diesel. An auto box is a desirable but not essential.

Just to give you an idea, some of the cars that I was looking at were a Focus ST-3 and a Golf R. I've never PCP'd or leased before so not aware of the best sites to look at. So if anyone knows of any good deals on those cars or similar deals and can point me in the direction, it's be much appreciated.

The focus ain't even in the same league as the golf!

Any size requirements? Features?

Btw, feeling the petrol love man.

Size wise, preferably Focus/Golf size.

Features, hmm, I like my gadgets. Good sound system, with Bluetooth, USB, etc (standard stuff I guess for a lot of cars nowadays). Good touchscreen display. Thing is, if you add too many options, it just jacks up the price you pay. I like a car to look sporty but have good tech onboard. I'm thinking that's probably pretty vague.

Golf would definitely be my shout. I know there were very good deals on it recently. Maybe see if you can find anything on an m135i since the 140 is coming out soon

Golf R with DSG if you can wait about 3 months :) im still waiting for mine . Can put you through to the broker that i used . He did me a very good deal on the Golf R specced how i wanted

There were some good SEAT Leon Cupra lease deals around about a month ago, think they were 5,000 miles per year for a two year term.

Oh and a quick question about leasing. When do you pay the initial fee? When you order or when the first months payment is due along with the first months payment?

I've found a Golf R lease deal, £1700 deposit and £276pm over 24 months with 10,000 mileage allowance. Might be a stock vehicle though as there are no options available to choose.

How do you identify the MY17 models? I've never owned a VW so I'm not as up on the various marques as I am with Ford.

The MY17 ones have only been built from Week 22 of this year, they will have the frameless rear view mirror and extra vents on the front wheel arches. There are other minor little changes such as the glovebox wont have a lock on it , and also performance guages showing oil temp , boost etc etc on the infotainment screen

If you do a factory build it will be a MY17 version now.

Ah ok. Can you send me over the details of that broker? Is he likely to get around the price I put above? Although the price above may be a stock car rather than a custom ordered one?
