So, I trash talk a lot on this forum. And recently I tackled the RMA procedure of EVGA as I didn't want to be out of my gaming hobby for more than a week or 2.

Their procedure has been super easy and incredibly fast (less than 5 business days turn around). They send out a new card before testing the original! If the card is fine, it simply goes into the RMA stock. So as the end consumer, you have very little down time.

I know the EVGA representative jumps on here from time to time, so I hope he sees this as I believe I need to give credit where credit is due.

Cool story bro.

Thanks Ben, good to know the relevant staff get the praise they deserve :)

Is that 5 business days total from you first sending the card?

So if you sent on Monday, you got the replacement by Friday.

Yes, obviously don't quote this one example as a true for all situations.

Cool story bro.

I have the EVGA G2 PSU and a big reason I got that was a) it is probably the best PSU b) it has a 10 year warranty, TEN YEAR warranty, 10 years.

Sorry, how much warranty does a G2 PSU have? You weren't clear enough :p ;)

got a 1000w g2 psu, micro 2 mobo and 2 980ti sc's in my current rig - love evga stuff & you can't fault the customer service & warranty, as a company they're bang on imo

also might be a silly thing but I really appreciate that their aesthetic isn't overly 'gamer' focused like other brands.

TEN years, yes... 10... 10 years of warranty.

Well, isn't that sort of common for high-end PSUs? So I guess most likely it's simply not too hard to make a reliable PSU?

I recently got this Seasonic Prime which also comes with a 10 year warranty. When looking to buy, I found that most serious products had 7 years.

Oh, another interesting thing I learned is that, there's like very few actual manufacturers of PSUs and most branded products are simply designed by "BeQuiet" or "EVGA" or "Corsair" but are actually built by some other company. It's like the opposite of graphics cards where you buy the chip and design/manufacture your own PCB. Instead they design something and get one of 3-4 big PSU shops to build them.

Yeh I did not say EVGA make it, its made by superflower, you get seasonic etc. that make the PSU and they are rebranded to corsair, EVGA etc. but still the EVGA G2 was the best warranty, most of them are 3 or 5 years IIRC. The EVGA G2 is superflower but with some upgraded parts so overall slightly better than the superflower version.

Yeah, Superflower or Seasonic actually make the better PSU's, and then other companies rebrand them. Then again, I don't think buying from Seasonic/Superflower themselves would give customer service on par with EVGA, especially without a UK RMA centre.

Yeh so EVGA PSU = best PSU and best warranty, cannot lose.

My only complaint about my Supernova G2 is that the fan is very noisy when it actually spins up. By far the loudest in my system. Thankfully, that's not often running only a single card thanks to the semi-passive mode. Only the hungriest cards like the 290X can make it activate. It operates entirely passively at all times with a lower TDP card such as the 1060 I'm using now, which is very nice.

U.K. Rma means a lot but couldn't fault seasonic. Apart from the shipping costs to Europe when mine went wrong after 5 years then sent my their latest model back as a replacement with a new 7 year warranty. Was an upgrade from 750w to 850w as well.

So if they can't replicate the fault they just send the card out to another customer? Sounds abit naff to me. The card you have received might not be new then, it may be a repaired card or a returned card.

"my only complaint with the supernova G2 is that it is silent all the time in my PC" is what you just said :D

I had a bad experience with them in the past... I had a faulty motherboard.

They scratched the back side of it, claimed I did it and rejected the RMA based on the physical damage one of their bods did.

I had no way to prove I didn't scratch it, so didn't have any real recourse. I'm certain it wasn't my damage.

Because of them, I now take detailed photos of anything I RMA.
