*** The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Thread ***

He doesn't know it is. He says 'it's been fine', which is different.

Samsung are doing the right thing, and they didn't hang about which is good, but generally the chances of yours melting/blowing up is still minute.

Anybody else having issues with their Note 7?

Mine's rebooted, and is no longer accepting my pin during it's boot...

I put it in several times and it tells me to hold down the power button to turn it off. You turn it off and then back on and it then accepts the pin. When it boots, it works for a minute or two and then reboots and stops accepting the pin on start up again - until I hold the power button.

This has happened 3 times in the last 10 minutes, but looks to be ok at the moment.

It's in the box, also got the blue box and that silver return pouch ready. I think the lead is in there. ;)

Will call them again to see what they expect to be returned.

So is this guy one of the 35?

No, it will have been after Samsung officially announced that their was a problem with some of the batteries in the Note 7's as it says in the quote below it was days after Samsung announced a recall

"A car burst into flames after a dad reportedly left his Samsung Galaxy Note 7 charging in it just days after the tech giant announced a recall of the popular product over safety concerns."

Why did he leave it on charge in his car, putting his family at risk as he must have known about the danger of using it and about the recall, you would have had to have been living in a cave to not know about this issue and the recall. Sorry if it sounds harsh but it sounds a bit of an idiotic thing to do to me.

Surprisingly some people have been clueless about this note recall. Including peeps that have bought the phone in America..including no direct communication from their network..:/

I think Samsung have done everything they can to make this known so either he lives under a rock or just ignored it. Anyways, if the phone was the reason, then I would have expected to hear more of the "omfg, get rid of the phone right right now!".

Are the phones on the shelves the revised model then or are they still dishing out the ones with the potentially dodgy battery and how can you tell?

Agree.. Probably under a rock . Ie. Surprising

I don't think there are any on the shelves. All sales were halted so if they have started again, they would be new stock... at least I hope so... they would be very stupid to carry on selling the potentially dangerous product.

If Samsung stuck with removable batteries like in the S5 Note 3/4 ect then this recall wouldn't have cost them half as much, all they would have had to do was send out replacement batteries to those effected.

I wouldn't be surprised if removable batteries return with the S8, Note 8 next year. :P
