Guys, leave it now, enough has been said and should be left alone

you know what they say about sleeping dogs? prod them with a hornets nest while covered with honey dressed as a deer, in hunting season, near hunters by a bear in Chernobyl... while licking the elephants foot... (and I think there was something about drink driving)

If only I could fit that into a signature!

All I conclude from this thread is the following :

1)OP is an epic troll who gets 'off' on people hating him.

d4f48ebb6b42e204e991cac62b11dac63fb3f15ff6eacdd6500dd5e485acff6a.jpg

2)OP really is that disconnected with the general view that its not 'ok' to double dip, and the consensus that it makes everyone question his integrity.

The buyer may very well be a scammer.....who knows? On this we cant be certain, but if you have managed to salvage your issue with ebay to ensure that your loss is non existent or minimal its simply wrong to attempt to profit from this......and no .....not everyone does this.

Buyer scammer or not, the issue is that your code of ethics are questionable.

Ebay dispute- DPD screwed up? Need advice (Part 2)

In continuation to a previous thread I opened a while back: https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18736518

I was right all along! I knew from how the buyer was behaving that something was up. Admittedly I did mess a little bit with some of you here as this is what you deserved given your silly replies but regardless here we have it.

Accidentally I checked his ebay profile today and saw that my laptop was on sale shortly after the dispute came to an end where he realized he won't be getting back his funds.
To be fair he hasn't bought or sold anything but my laptop since then so it is not out of the question that behind this account there is some scammer who bought or hacked his account himself. For this reason I do not post sellers name and address here (for the moment).
On his sale page when answering another guys question he says he works in Canary Wharf and can meet for collection and yet he lives in East Sussex? That's where I posted the laptop.

On the other hand his ebay account is still open which means he did pay the ebay fee from the sale of the laptop so could we assume there is no dodgy person behind this ebay account and we are just dealing with a scammer?

For the record I have not requested any payout from the courier and luckily won ebays dispute.

I have reported the matter to ebay and my local police. For those of you who persisted with "refund him, it was your fault" all I can say now is "up yours".

So the guy lied and did get the laptop and you get to keep the money he paid?

Correct. He just tried to keep the laptop and the money because the courier stupidly left the laptop on the porch so he thought he can use courier's fault to win ebays dispute.

Lots of people commute from Brighton into London, that isn't bizarre.

True. I am considering paying him a visit as am not far away from him given that am located south myself. I don't accept **** like that.

Aye quick summary OP.
Just where does everything lie right now?

You have the money, he has the laptop, and the companies think what exactly?

-edit ok, and you won the dispute, so where are DPD left now? Are they still investigating, or what? Is the buyer still claiming it never arrived?

I didn't see the original thread but this sounds like a result.

As long as you have tracking then eBay/PayPal are pretty good to you as a seller and you should never refund any money. I got burned this way once when I trusted the seller was telling the truth, turned out they had my item and my money too.

Unless the item is over £750 (IIRC) then PP do not require a signature, so you're covered even if the courier decides to leave it on the doorstep.

DPD is none the wiser. Since I won the dispute I haven't pursued anything else.
The buyer never contacted me since losing the dispute. The last thing he said was that he will go to the small claims court etc. to which I replied "be my guest".

Look how slimy he was during the dispute. (He does sound convincing). His message:

Item paid promptly on 6th June in full via PayPal under transaction ID 5E687039WP458823U DPD Courier confirmed dispatch on 8th June after monies had cleared DPD Courier believe item was delivered on Monday 13th June and was signed for by someone called "PORCH" however no one was in that day and have checked with neighbours and they have not taken in any deliveries for me and nothing was left at the front door - we dont have a porch. Seller followed up with Courier but still no joy and cant confirm other that PORCH who signed for the parcel. Seller has been helpful and communicative however he suggested I raise a dispute as an undelivered item on 17th June via Ebay messaging. I am therefore requesting a full refund as item still not delivered a week after it was reportedly delivered. Thanks, Harry
