Set them up entirely in-game, I don't even have TARGET installed. The SC client includes deadzones, curves etc these days. Yes it could be better but it's still better than TARGET lol

Just wish Elite Dangerous had the controller config options, it nails everything except then in the controller options menus :(

My bad sorry ive just downloaded them and one is for one stick and the others for two, just a copy of the 16000m profiles :/.

If i spot anything regarding this il be sure to post for you :)

aye I thought that, but then you have the problem of having a ton of things on the stick that really should be on the throttle.

Yep that was what I was trying, but in the end there seems to be menu upon menu for buttons, it all became a little overwhelming lol. I was getting frustrated because my throttle, no matter what option I chose, wasn't changing incrementally. So, when i moved a mm forward or back it would just go full throttle or no throttle at all. Then I could work out my my rudder control was always reverse to how I set it. And don't get me started on the amount of buttons needed to actually fly the game haha.

I love flight controls and flight sims, but I'm not a fan of 40 buttons shared between two hands all doing something different...I must be getting old, I just have a meltdown trying to remember what is what.

I would say once the throttle is sorted out, just map things AS you need them that way it's not overwhelming trying to remember everything you have done and will just have the stuff that you need frequently.

Wish it was as simple as cut and paste for throttle curves as i would just send you one over but would not work on the other throttle :( if you need a hand with figuring anything out let us know :)

I watched Draegast play this again last night, his FPS looked fine but even when I put my settings to 1080p, medium in the hangar it ran like crap?

Uninstalled it yet again. This time until it's properly fixed.

Did you even try to make it run well? there are many different things that if you looked even for just 30 seconds you would find that would improve your performance,

Also what are you trying to run this on? is your sig up to date?

Yes my sig is up to date. Don't plan to upgrade because it won't make a huge difference to an i7 or something.

How else can I try to make it run well? I want to enjoy this game but the netcode/behind the scenes whatever just grrr.

What are these many different things? Please let me know.

For one you could have some patience and stop getting wound up by what's clearly an alpha, you could (ironically) disable cpu 3 in affinity because it causes performance issues, there are LOADS of custom ini files for performance fixing hence why a lot of streamers and such that you will see will have decent ish performance.

With SC the difference between a mid tier i5 and a decent i7 will be visible simply due to the threading system eating more threads. (Will just get a bigger performance gap as the game gets more optimised)

Chris did say in 2013 that he was going to make everyone's PC suffer and that only the best systems would be able to run it at high settings because of the level of detail. So far he holds true to his word.

EDIT : PS Im sorry if i am coming across as bit of a **** it's not my intention, a nice side note is that we are being told about 3.0 (the next patch) being a good performance/netcode improvement.

EDIT 2 : out of curiosity was it installed on the HDD or the SSD as I can see hdds having issues loading such high res textures.

I've had patience since I bought the game. I just have an extremely short temper and the slightest thing ticks me off.

HDD, only have a 120GB SSD.

I understand how frustrating it can be having issues on stuff you just want to have fun on.

IF you have the patience/space to try it on the SSD I would recommend it and il sort you out an ini file to try. I feel your pain with a 120gb SSD, I removed hyberfil and page file to make extra room to justify having sc installed on it

Okay... so after ragging on this game for a while... the vids look sick

Few questions before I boot her up (as I do own some ships)

1. What's the performance under 2.6/AWS Lumberyard?

2. Can you rebind all controls IN THE game?

3. What would you recommend as the first thing(s) to do?

Thanks

exactly the same as cry engine because it's the same thing with amazon stuff integrated for later on and their servers. Star marine runs great for me 40fps as a minimum and usually sit around 60, hangar solid 60, mini PU tend to bounce between 28-40 usually on the lower 30's

2. Can you rebind all controls IN THE game?
Assume so but i use a pre build target profile for my hog so can't say ive actually tried this. There are like 3000000 different controls on the list though.

3. What would you recommend as the first thing(s) to do?
shoot halfmad in the face with a torpedo? star marine is fun but my favorite thing is still exploring the mini PU.

Thanks
Your welcome

^^Thanks Harry. It'll take a lot for me to be pulled away from Elite tbh

I'll give it a go

From what i know of elite it's currently the more full experience compared to SC but from again what i know it's not got near as much ambition with the large scope. I do think there will come a time ( possibly a few patches from now ) when the tide turns over and we have enough content to pull&keep elite players over. Next patch will be cool for planetary landings, a lot of expanding of the stanton system, trading, cargo transport, piracy, mercenary work, bounty hunting.

We will have SQ42 not to long after i don't think ( the first part of it that is ),

3.1 we will get mining, refining, quantum interdiction, refueling and escorting as well as new solar system locations and ships

3.2 we will get repair, salvage and covert mercenary operations and again more locations annd ships,

3.3 farming, rescue more locations and ships

4.0 jump points ( different star systems ) exploration and science/research and more ships/locations

Ignoring Harry's comments above, shouldn't run poorly in the hangar with your spec to be honest. Was it a brand new install? Just wondering if something in the XML config file from a previous version could have been causing it, or even verifying installation files from the launcher might have helped much like you can do with Steam installs.

Ironically I had a hell of a time last night getting my controls setup for Elite, so much so I'll probably just not bother going back to it. Requires me to configure deadzones/curves outside of the game for my devices and I just cannot be bothered with all that faff. Well I might just go use keyboard/mouse I guess :p
