£2K budget, new gaming PC. Help me spec before 4pm cutoff?

There is one major issue, I still use a PS2 keyboard that I wont part with. (Dell clicky thing I love). Will need to get an adaptor.

That Asus board has a PS2 port at the rear (Top left).

One other thing that might be an issue though is the cooler. The R1 Ultimate is a big beast so it might block off the top pcie slot. I would ask the question first before ordering it.

A good alternative would be the Noctua D15S if you don't mind the Brown/Beige fan.

Oops, didnt see this.

Does the CPU come with a stock fan at least which I can then use if the R1 blocks the slot?

I did not expect the board to support PS2, awesome, thanks.

Mmmm, does the Win 10 media come on a DVD? Not bought a DVD drive although I should have spare and could probably just do a USB boot option, just need the product key afterall.

No you don't get a stock fan on X99 platform. If it does block off the top slot then you can always put the gpu in a lower slot. I am not 100% sure if it would run at full speed (x16) or at x8 but it shouldn't make any noticeable difference.

This link might help regarding W10.

Thanks, will manage then. If the cooler gets in the way Ill make a plan later if needed.

Thanks once again for everyone's help.

For Win 10, I just have it on a USB having downloaded ISO from MS site. There is a good free programme called Rufus which you can use to create a UEFI bootable USB drive. You only need a 4GB USB stick. You can then simply get a Win 10 key from any number of places, even see them on the MM forum here sometimes.

Thanks - about to try Rufus as Im loading Win 10 on an older laptop (need a serial port for some other stuff I do) and its struggling so Rufus was advised.

Key wise, trying to go legit where possible.

All up and running with the new machine. No real issues with the installation. I have a lot of 'unknown' items in the device manager, will apply the mobo drivers now and see how many it clears.
