If you want it to be accurate yes, it can be 5psi+ difference with a hot tyre pressure. compared to cold. For the commute/shopping run/pick kids up from the school then it wont matter. Spiriting driving it will. Lets face it most people do not even check their pressures until they are told by a total stranger a tyre looks soft.

Are you suggesting that average drivers can tell what the pressure should be better than the ones specified by the car manufacturer?
Even as a spirited driver myself I inflate at cold to 1-2 PSI higher than the number quoted in the door. The logic being that when I inevitably leave it too long and find I'm 1-2 PSI under I've done equal driving both above and below the recommended pressure to even out tyre wear. This would be impossible to work out accurately when the tyres are warm as it will be so difficult to judge just how warm they are.
