yes tbh we tether at my business because we have no phone line so i generally use my 25gb allowance now. so this will give me peace of mind moving forward and allow me to watch a bit more if i want to

edit sorry its £67.99 a month not £73. I dont think thats bad value given i pay £48.00 not for 25gb also given i only paid £30 for the phone. (i get the vat back too)

Am I missing something? £300 extra for the privilege of being tied into o2 for 24 months, and spreading the cost of the handset? (OK, you can get £100 cashback, but still..)

I've just been the the o2 store, and they confirmed I am not missing anything... Although they are selling me the phone interest free (£701), they are charging me £35 for the airtime part of the contract, which is nearly double what you can get it from on their website.. You are effectively paying nearly £300 extra for that "interest free" phone. :-D So moral of the story is, if you can afford it, buy directly from Apple, its cheaper, unlocked and you are free to change provider at any time.

(sure other websites might be cheaper than o2, but Im with o2 and did the research around their offering)

Hmmm trying to decide the best option. I'm a pretty light user but currently have a Sim only with BT which gives me 20gb a month for £15. I probably use about 4gb at most.

Options are
Take out a contract with O2, It's £200 upfront and £35 a month. With £70 cashback. Making it £970 over the 2 years. For this i get 5gb/unlimited/unlimited.

Alternative is buy the phone from Very using the whole 10% deal. Bringing it down to £620 (also 2% cashback). Then stick with BT at £15 a month. Making it about £970 a month aswell.

BT are a bit rubbish when it comes to signal so have the dilemma of lower package with better signal (i presume O2 would be better) vs higher data but lower quality.

EDIT -Seems the best deal is O2 but only comes with 3gb for ~850 for the 24 months. Just think that'd be too little.

Totally agree this has done it for me with o2. I remember when you used to get good deals on upgrades rather than rip them off more.

I just ordered the iphone 8+ 256GB from apple direct. I am out of contract with o2 so when i have the time i will look around for a good sim free deal with another provider.

We've been in o2 today as well and the employee discount only applies to air time so it's still not that great, 10GB data on a 64GB 8 was 39.99 upfront and 50.50 a month

BT are EE, where are you that EE signal is bad?

Not to mention EE supports WiFi Calling and VoLTE.

Ah interesting i didn't know that. I'm in Chorley, it's fine at home but there've been quite a few times that i've been out and about and had signal drops whereas my wife has had plenty signal.

If BT are EE, does that mean i could get the watch and use it with my BT sim?

Order placed for an iPhone 8 in Silver.

Can't wait, last phone was the S7 Edge, I just cannot get on with Android...

Passed on the X, will revisit when the next gen is released, I have a feeling the X is going to have a few teething problems...

Probably not, BT Mobile is run as the budget network and currently doesn’t have WiFi Calling and VoLTE which the watch needs.

Yo
How do cases work with wireless charging?
u surely have to remove the case. I'm a bit bummed at being charged another £50 for a fast charger too.

I'm not saying I'll definitely keep the plus. I have a 14 day cooling off period, so if I find it too heavy, I'll probably return it for a normal one. 202 grams is bloody heavy. My Galaxy S6 is only about 140 grams.

Shouldn't there be bumper style cases?!

Mine shows preparing for dispatch, wonder if they are coming straight from China rather than a holding place in the UK were past deliveries have come from.

Ordered from Apple direct and went with the 8 plus 64gb in Slate grey.

This would be my third plus phone and thought the same when I first went to the Plus size but now I would not want a smaller screen.

There has been the odd occasion when a smaller size would have been handy.
