as a more general point though it does work, i'm almost exclusively prime/youtube for my viewing these days and as much as we like to whine about advertising on the internet 5s worth of skippable ad every 20-60 minutes is much better than the old fashioned "lets have an hour long show with 45 minutes of actual content"

i actually cringe these days on the rare time i watch something that's not bbc on the telly
 
I don't have any need for religion in my life and do not watch any live BBC broadcasts, guess I will cancel any further payments.

Quite agree, unless there is profound reason the child can't be in mainstream school, autism etc then they should be at school, don't you agree?
 
I don't want all this rubbish broadcast with my money, isn't there a god channel on sky for the deluded to foam their mouth over.

Going the other way (leftism), I don't have much room for SJWs (social justice warriors) either, plus people who are offended for the sake of being offended, and anything that is overly PC. So I guess this puts me in the centre or slightly left-of-centre. So no religion, no SJWs or being terminally offended. Just some common sense :)

I think this is great news. Whether people like it or not religion is something that is here and will be with us in some form or another until the human race becomes extinct.

Although we live in a multicultural society with followers of different religions there's still a huge amount of ignorance around. Take Islam for example, practically in the news every day and perhaps the most talked about religion, isn't well known in terms of beliefs or what is and isn't cultural add ons.

I think it's important to know about other religions, not only because it does open your mind and thinking to other explanations of who we are and the point of life but because we can better understand what motivates and drives other people. Personally, I may disagree with many things that others believe but I do think that knowing more about someone's traditions and culture, which religion often brings together, makes it easier to build a relationship.
