PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

if all you get is sadness out of the game or anger why play ?

hmm who wants to play some squads or duos on discord ? whats the ocuk link again :p

Had a quick go of this on a friend's machine. Is it me or are the graphics from circa 2005 ?

They are if he had the settings on low like a lot of players do to reduce the foliage and texture quality so players can be seen better.
If they cranked up however they are simply 'ok', I have to turn all AA off because the ones they use are horrible and I prefer the jaggies over the muddy mushy textures the ingame AA gives off.

I know graphics don't always make a game but considering so many people are playing this I'm generally shocked how the game visually looks considering its a basic game layout and physics.

Cheats are absolutely ruining this. Every game I'm playing I am getting killed by aimbots or people with map cheats... it's getting ridiculous.

I personally don't care whatsoever about graphics in multiplayer games and I'm sure I'm not in the minority. I think the game looks nice on ultra anyway, but it doesn't run well enough to use it.

I've just downloaded Fornite to give it a whirl... for people who have played both this and PUBG, how do you feel they compare?

It's a pretty fun game and well made but doesn't have the intensity of PUBG, and the gunplay doesn't feel as good to me. I only played it for a couple of hours but I found myself just wanting to go back to PUBG after every game.

I dislike the building aspect a lot as well for some reason.

Came across my most blatant cheater yet earlier, I was at the edge of the circle in the rocks near the beach, prone, very well hidden.... I spot an enemy and he's literally running in a completely different direction to me, i'm miles away and he suddenly snaps to me and boom, SKS headshot :/

Been playing for a couple of days now, like the game. Feel free to add me: HummuH :D

Couple of questions, what are people playing? Random matchmaking or specific servers?

Are TPP and FPP games different when selecting in lobby?

Never really liked TPP in games before but really like it in this. Not been blighted by any cheating yet but maybe I'm too fresh to spot it.

Getting pointless spending 30min+ just to be killed by a cheater.

That's why I quit playing. 30+ min to die to cheater or RNG. Get's old fast. Hopefully DICE or someone reputable comes out with a realistic battle royal game.

erm killed from a repeated hip shot with a SKS from about 400 meters...

I find it quite funny I dont know what people get out of it.

Annoyingly I crawled right into someone in a ghillie suit today who was already hiding in the bush I was going for :p

Combination of only half concentrating (talking to the wife as she got home from work) and mild panic as I realised meant they got me.

Think I had a scar, they had a groza which shredded me in no time :(

Another funny one was watching the death cam to see I took them to zero health on their health bar only for their meds to bump them back up a split second later which made me the loser of the duel :p

Think I’ve been lucky with the cheaters, apart from the teaming the other day can’t say I’ve come across anything noticeable yet after a lot of hours.

Yeah full stimming is underrated. It's always best to fully stim before a fight for that exact reason.

Money selling crates.

Which is why retrospectively banning accounts isn't the answer. They will just buy another one as an acceptable cost of doing business. They need something in game that can detect a cheat and boot them.

Also, I think someone said (Dg?) at one point 10-15% are cheating, that's normal for games. Even though we're seeing loads, surely it can't be that high? That would mean every game you join, 10-15 of the opposition are cheating? Really?

It really depends on your level. Cheaters rise through the ranks fast for obvious reasons, so I can see it being higher the higher you go. I think people are going to be disappointed once they block off China and all the cheating doesn't stop. Simple fact of the matter is that there is an incentive (crates) and the capability (client side) to cheat and cheats can be sold for cash. Right now chinese players are a good scapegoat, it'll just be the russians next. The real problem is Bluehole is making huge amounts of money on this without having to take much action against cheating at all. Without a decent competition to the game we wont see much change for a long time. So what if a thousand people quit because of cheating, there are three million playing consecutively.
