I'm after a new pair of black oxfords/toe cap for work which will be rotated with my current CT brogues (which conveniently need be repaired). After a few days of browsing, I've narrowed it down to the following:
Loake - Smith (£175 but I'll get Herring to price match another site for £149)
https://www.herringshoes.co.uk/loake/smith_oxfords/black-polished
Goodyear welted, rubber heal, medium width and handmade in UK.
Loake - 747 (£175 but £150 on another site so Herring to price match)
https://www.herringshoes.co.uk/loake/747_oxfords/black-polished
Goodyear welted, rubber heal, medium width and handmade in UK.
Loake - 200 (£135 but £120 on another site so Herring to price match)
https://www.herringshoes.co.uk/loake/200_oxfords/black-polished
Goodyear welted, rubber heal, wider fit but made in India.
I'm swaying more towards the Loake Smith as it's a medium width and made in the UK. I've checked Herring, Pediwear and British Shoe Company (including the sales), but can't seem to find anything else in the same bracket? £150 but will spend more if justified.
Any other recommendations?
