AMD's answer to RTX - 7nm Vega

Mate, don't let them get to you. Unless you sing AMD praises from the rooftop, you are an NVidia fanboy. I am sitting here with a 290X awaiting my 2080Ti, which has now been moved to the 30th October and I am thinking of canceling and going for something else. As for 7nm AMD, the sooner the better I say. NVidia pricing is crazy at present and competition is healthy and I would have no qualms about buying another AMD GPU if it has the performance.
So you are basically support and agree with trolling?
LOL how cute, AMD bringing out a 7nm space heater that will perform worse than GTX 1050 and need you to remortgage your house to pay the power bills...
This contribution to the discussion of this thread how?

Money just came out of my account yesterday for my two :)

Oooooo I just checked the Nvidia order status page and it was marked as shipped with tracking numbers - I checked the tracking and they are actually at the pick-up point 4 days earlier than I expected...... guess where I am going NOW!?

May be you shouldn't be so quick to support someone and paint him as a victim without looking what came out of his mouth/what's he's written?
You are a strange one. I see it all the time and you prove my point. Someone makes a comment possibly in jest (That is how I read it) and gets labeled a fanboy or troll (which you then say I support). My advice to those guys/you is find a nice safe place away from the nasty people. Anyways, enough with this rubbish and I will let the thread post some decent 7nm info (hopefully)

Who spending 500+ pounds on gpu gives a **** about power consumption ?? hmmm can think of miners..
For me cards can draw 500-600 alone if they deliver performance I can cool it with my custom loop no problem.

Agreed,so as long as AMD makes something competitive,I am not sure what this rant by Paladine is about on page one is trying to do:

Sorry guys but we have been here before... many many many times. AMD claim to have the next best thing since Astroglide was invented, they launch it (late) to much fanfare, people buy it and then immediately wish they hadn't because it doesn't perform anywhere near the level they were promised and it is obsolete within 2 months... I was red for 15 years - repeatedly let down time and time and time again - not falling for their crap anymore.

He is the one moaning about power consumption 12 posts into the thread. If he is so assured that AMD won't make anything good, then why is he bothered reading this thread?? Seems utterly pointless, especially since he is bought a new card already - plenty of other threads to waste time in with more relevance to Nvidia cards!! :)

I think it is an age thing mate - this seems to be lost with the younger generations

Its an age thing - you seem to be blaming your own poor purchase decisions on companies. Nobody forced you to buy a Bulldozer CPU or a Vega64 at all when better alternatives were available. You went overboard on apparently buying AMD products instead of looking at them objectively, and now since you flipped over to Intel/Nvidia you are acting the same. So in a few years time you might flip back to AMD and say the same about Intel/Nvidia.

Seen this behaviour on forums before.

Edit!!

Saw this on the CPU forum - saw people ditching perfectly good Haswell setups for games where Ryzen wouldn't be a massive upgrade and then started moaning at AMD for months.

If they had done their own basic research it would not have been the cleverest thing to do - I even told them to stay put. Oh well.

I never owned a Vega64 and I had my 8320 Bulldozer clocked at 5Ghz stable (and was very happy with it). I bought my 6700k because I was converting my rig into a Hackintosh and MacOS doesn't run on AMD CPUs - so probably a good idea not to make assumptions about why people makes specific choices and purchasing decisions.

Nobody is judging you for your purchase decision, but rather they are more in disbelief your inaccurate account of AMD's graphic card performance.

You came across as because AMD cannot match Nvidia at the very top offering, everything else they offer are utter rubbish comparing to Nvidia- which is far from the truth.

No it isn't - AMD have under performed at the top level compared with Nvidia for years. I am not interested in their mid-range offerings and I don't care about their mid range offerings. The fact is that when it comes to flagship, AMD cannot compete - this is indisputable. Furthermore, every single AMD GPU I have owned has been power hungry and run hot as hell (just like their CPUs) - hence the space heater comment.

But more importantly (as Gregster pointed out) the comment was tongue in cheek - if you guys can't accept a bit of friendly digging every now and again then perhaps you should consider getting out of the kitchen. I know that those of us who chose to purchase RTX cards were subjected to a great deal worse than my single comment about an AMD space heater - but you don't see us crying about it.

For me the highlights of ATi/AMD's graphics card over the past 20 years or so that have been on par with Nvidia's offerings were: ATi Radeon 32/64MB DDR, ATi Radeon 8500, ATi Radeon 9700Pro, ATi Radeon X800XT, ATi Radeon HD4870/4890, ATi Radeon HD5870, AMD Radeon HD7970, AMD R9 290(X) after this they started loosing out in high-end segment.

Not that far :p (see I put a :p at the end so means instantly not trolling and can say anything)

I am not interested in their mid-range offerings and I don't care about their mid range offerings.

So don't read or comment on discussions about the mid-range then, simple. A good dose of taking your own advice is suggested here too: if you're going to post flame bait, however tongue-on-cheek it may be (although it's easy to claim retrospectively it's only banter), and then complain that people cry about it, don't then cry yourself when you're called out on your flame bait.

7nm Vega is not midrange, it is their flagship.

Furthermore, I didn't cry about it - I corrected people who claimed I do nothing but post anti-AMD content, which is utter bs and easily disproved by simply searching my post history. People wanna jest with me about AMD vs Nvidia or vice versa I am quite happy to engage, but people spouting outright lies in an attempt to discredit someone is not acceptable behaviour.
