What film did you watch last night?

Hmm, I thought this was the worst in the series to date.

Full of plot holes, poor story and annoying characters. I thought Bryce Dallas Howard was particularly awful.

I think Bryce Dallas Howard playing anything but a ditzy blond with an irritating voice is completely unbelievable. The only reason she worked in Black Mirror was.... she was playing a ditzy fake blond who throughout most of the film was putting on a fake act with people which felt pretty natural to her :p

A Quiet Place
Really enjoyed the quiet and suspense. I found myself holding my breath trying not to make any noise

This film is a cinematic experience because everyone does the same. It might sound strange because you'd think all the popcorn noises will ruin it but people don't even dare to breath and when everyone is doing it and going through the same motion, it really adds to the experience.

Downsizing - despite the film not knowing whether it was a comedy or a drama I enjoyed it. It could probably have been better but as it was it was weird and that's OK. 3/5

She's a red head though...

A Star Is Born 8/10

Bradley Cooper and Gaga were fantastic .

Who knew Cooper was such a great singer .

Went to the cinema with the Mrs today, she was a sobbing mess at the end (as it seems were nearly all the women in our showing) but the film was actually good and both Gaga and Cooper put in great performances, thoroughly enjoyed it and would agree with an 8 out of 10.

Upgrade

It was ok, but maybe I had slightly higher expectations than I should have going off the reviews on here. Yes it was low budget, but some of the acting was pretty poor. More gory than I was expecting :D 6/10

Didn't expect the main twist of it all being STEM, but instantly called the 'waking up in hospital with wife' scene either VR or all in his head. :p

Leave no trace 7/10

It's a slow burn, so not for everyone. But we really enjoyed this. A good story with really good acting performances.

If you have the patience, well worth the watch.

The Producers (Mel Brooks original, of course)

Picked up the 50th anniversary blu ray on Friday. Still as perfect as the first time I saw it in my early teens. One of the funniest films ever made. Casting and scripts could not be more perfect. A masterpiece!

Suspiria

Also picked this up on Friday. Tis the 4K upscaled re release with all the missing frames and original colour pallete that the original had. Still love it. Twas one of the first films I saw as a teen that genuinely frightened me and that fear is still there each time I watch it. It hasn't aged too well though. The dubbing in some places is nearing comical and I feel the second act drags on for far too long with too few predicaments and scares. However it's still Argentos best work and a must for horror fans!

I went on a day trip to the island where they filmed this on my honeymoon, it's beyond postcard beautiful. We were lucky enough to get there really early before the tours and had 3 hours uninterrupted. Sadly in reality, it's a tiny island that you can swim around in a short time.
Hey, what's on that island exactly? I mean, is it a tourist resort or not ?! Always curious about this :):)
