please just stop it, stop buying

If amd starts selling 1000 pound gpu thats faster than 2080ti.
I will buy it. And then people would moan that its too much..

I dont give a crap whi will make good card amd intel or nv.

You remember that top Vega 64 was 750 or 800 pounds right ??
Problem is was more than 1080ti while slower lol

Try playing Quake on less than 144fps. 125fps is doable bit not as responsive as 144 plus.

Yeah I already acknowledged I accept the response time improvements that some people seem to be sensitive to, I am now talking about the visual smoothness of moving images on a screen at refresh rates over 60fps.

Not really. They too busy having fun.

If it explodes they will rma it and life goes on

Not if they have watercooled it and removed the warranty sticker :)

People who paid this money for a ticking time-bomb 2080 are going to look pretty silly in a few months when 7nm cards come out.

Good luck selling it on as well...

I agree with the OP. Nvidia ate quite literally laughing at everyone whilst spanking their wallets.

So many people on here trying to defend their right to look like idiots and pay massively over the odds for tech but ultimately nvidia have us all completely by the short and curlys and it’s a very sad state of affairs if you ask me.

It’s your money and you can spend it how you wish but please don’t for one minute try and pretend that you aren’t being milked for all you are worth. You are.

Saying that, I wish I could afford to upgrade but mortgages, cars, bills etc all get in the way. I imagine many of those who can afford it don’t have similar overheads. I sure some of you do but many many won’t.

Real shame - the market is completely and utterly knackered and there are plenty of people making a lot of money out of it. Good luck to them.

Few weeks back you wrote that you will never buy AMD card ever............
Do you want me to link your post?

I was too cheap for a SLI Voodoo card and I was rocking a Matrox Millenium card.
Us old timers where pretty good sub with 30fps @ 512 x 384.

You kids don't know how lucky you are squabbling over 125 vs 144.
This is why I win more games than I lose and when I do lose I don't blame my tools :P

Who is AMD?

There is no hope for us along as people have this attitude xD

Honestly it's like people enjoy being bent over by price from Nvidia, and almost cheer them along for it pmsl.

I literally will never understand this attitude..

I hope AMD bring something to compete and knock prices down to sensible levels.

Anyone paying £1200+ for a GPU barely faster than the 2 years old gen baffles me. Even if you have the money, I mean why would you?!

I mean fair play if you have money to throw around, but still those few extra few FPS in your favorite games, when let's be honest your already getting what over 120FPS worth it? Double the price??

Madness xD

Ah well, I don't understand, but you guys are doing a great service for future MM purchases. So hats off to you.

:D

I used to play Quake 3 on a Voodoo 3 3000 AGP back in 99/00 at 640x480 between 30 - 60fps. It was awful even then. Getting a boost with Vertex lighting through WickedGL were the days.

The good players were on GeForce 2 Ultra's. As they were capping their framerate at 90fps.

There's nothing quite like spending a bit of cash to feel superior and look down your nose at everyone else, this place feeds off it at times evident by some of the self-opinionated patronising posts witnessed in the gfx sub.

It's everyone's choice to spend on what they choose, but a limit needs reached in regards to pricing before it stops, maybe RTX is the limit, hardly anyone's buying in comparison to past series.

What does my nut in about hardware in general for the most part when people get a new cpu and\or gpu it's like they also took a blood oath to defend it to the death on forums. I honestly could not give 2 balls of roasted snow what is in my system as long as it gives me the performance i want and the price i want to pay. I don't get the cheerleading for a piece of hardware at all.

I can tell the difference on my 60HZ Dell Superwide to my 100hz X34. Thats is the main reason I bought it.

Same here, but I didn't know the difference until I viewed it.

Main reason I bought it was for the ultrawide and that really is a game changer, plus Gsync.
