Agree but they had to appeal to more of the younger generation and not just old todgers

What's your excuse then :p

What I will say this V8 turbo is the best V8 TT I've heard, it sounded good in the AMG, but Aston have made the noise more ugly, that is a good thing.

RE 4.0 V8 TT I have driven this in the AMG GTC and it does sound good indeed, not quite the old 6.2 sound wise but I would say that! Goes like hell!

I love the back of the new Vantage but I hate this view:

It looks way too much like this to me:

The Vantage can only dream of being the dream boat that the NC2 MX5 is

Not keen on the new Vantage I'm afraid, it just doesn't do anything for me. I'd take a 911 over it, or an AMG GT.
Different strokes and all that though, if we all liked the same thing life would be boring.

Exeter Mercedes has the AMG GT thingy in. Very nice in the flesh and you can now get them for 120's. Exeter is really good for car shopping as all the main vendors, including a Ferrari dealer with 360CD, 430Scud, 458 Spaz and La in the showroom and a Porsche dealer with many GT3/RS's too. Popped in with my dad when down there for new year, we like a bit of coffee drinking and looking at cars we are not going to buy, but we do make that clear :D

The 458 'Spaz' was the best of the bunch, though not having stripes (a 7K to 14K option) was I am told the reason it has not sold...

It REALLY hurt seeing a 360 Strad up for over 200K when I know these were below 100K 3 years ago! Regrets, I have few, but not buying one at that price point is one of them. Would take a 360 Strad over a 430 Scud any day and twice on Sunday and both those were over 200K now too. I suspect this time next year sensible is where they would be.

BMW, however, well in my opinion they have lost their appeal quite a lot. Not sure why, but I have had over 10 of them and nothing in their range holds appeal to me at the moment, my father feeling the same. The showroom was a soulless experience too and the 8 series for 100K, well it just makes no sense...

Yep my plan is to wait, watch and be ready to pounce on right deal.
Gonna get some test drives done in meantime so I can narrow the choice down a bit. :)

The interior of the new 8 isn’t worthy of a car in that segment, not when you compare it to the S Class Coupe. Total lack of drama.

I know BMW have never really been about drama inside but they got away with it because their design language was so particular, so ‘BMW’. Most of the range is missing that feel now. It all feels diluted. It’s still a BMW, but it’s the Diet Coke version aesthetically...

Anyone know what I’m talking about?
