Hi Guys, I need urgent help.
I have a AMD RX580 8GB MSI armor 8GB card in my sons gaming rig, which is in an NZXT h200i Case Mitx Build. Anyway we are getting a few issues with the card again. Main one is over heating on average its between 80-90 degrees in game, Idle its 50 degrees. I have a bigger case and an rx580 Sapphire Nitro+ 8GB. My average idle is 30-40 degrees in game im 60-70.
Difference between my rid and my sons in the case and im on a 1080p screen and hes on an AOC 2K 70Hz screen.
So what i have done is i have reset the GPU, Redone clean drivers, Downloaded MSI afterburner tried a customer Curve, Tried using AMD Chill, wattman curve etc still not dampening the temp. MY next call is to swap cards over from each rig to see of that makes a difference, Reducing my sons resolutions down to 1080p which i dont want to as whats the point when this card claims to do 4K nvm 2K. Or we need to look at a bigger case to help with air flow.
Have you got any thoughts or opinions etc to help?

Yup, it's fairly well known that the H200i starves the gfx card of fresh air due to it's placement at the bottom (I looked at this case and did a little research on it for a 1080Ti), plus the fact that the 580's run warm AND the armor hasn't got the best cooler then I'd say that was about right. Sorry.

Lower settings a little, cap the frame rate at 70 and use Radeon Chill and they should all help. Tbh if it's not crashing then I'd leave it and worry more when the warmer weather comes...

As above it does seem to a case of the trifecta of hot components, not a lot of air into the case, very little room for the card to breath and a unwhelming GPU cooler. Unfortunately NZXT seems to put form over function hard so they have pretty well made cases that look great in pictures but are very hot and loud.

You 100% need to undervolt. It truly is the case hindering you a lot for GPU, I recently did a HTPC build for someone with the XFX 590 in a Silverstone GD09, so the hottest 590 card, in a cramped case, in a TV cabinet, and it's running fine (<80 degrees, no throttle, stock core & memory bump) with the UV & fan curve I tweaked for it but that's also because I planned around the GPU first and foremost, so it has proper exhaust even if it's only two puny 80mm fans.

Easiest way to test out the difference: run benches with panel off vs panel on.

Thanks Guys, Ive spent today testing my own card within the same case. My Saphire Nitro+ rx580 8GB card sits at around 30 degrees average Idle inside the h200i 20 degrees better than the MSI Armor, Game wise average 70-75 degrees and fans arnt maxed out compared to 85-90 at max on the MSI Armor.
I also placed the MSI card into my PC which it sat idle at 50 and 71 in game, so the case doesnt help the Temps, But these is also an issue with the card its self.

Yeah Ive just started to notice, Never had issues with many cards before and this is the second time this card has been RMA in 1 month :(
