I did this exact transition. Had a Fury X for a long time and just a couple months ago switched to a Vega 64. It's a VERY noticeable difference... like double in a lot of games lol. No regrets!

Is it worth upgrading a fury x to a Vega 64?
i9900k @ 5 Ghz 16 GB memory.
Mainly play BF4 / BF1 / BF5 @ 1080.

Yes, but with the rest of the rig being top shelf gaming hardware maybe wait for the VII, It releases on the seventh of this month. That said if you only play at 1080p the Vega 64 will be more than enough & you can get a cracking deal at the moment.

Can I ask why such a powerful card\s for 1080?

I'm only asking because I'm still stuck between speccing my next pc for 1440 or 1080 and you can get cheaper cards for 1080

One thing to consider is that Vega 64s run hotter and louder than the Fury X. And I've had both the LC AIO and the gigabyte dual fan models.
Especially if you've flashed the AMD UEFI Bios onto the Fury X.

I don't know about this guy, but I personally run 1080 (output to a 32" TV for gaming), but I like to run games at a higher resolution scale (1440p/2160p depending on game) and downscale to 1080 as it gives a much crisper image.

Starting to reach the limits of my 1060 in modern games though, Destiny 2 @ 125% scale can dip below 60fps now and again.
