But its clear its not just one or two paying these prices as the cards are just going up, if the majority of consumers didn't pay the fees they wouldn't be sold so high

Am all for people spending what they want and if they can justify 1.5k or more on a card and get enjoyment that's perfectly fine

It does how ever impact people who refuse to spend so much as all other cards will still cost more too as they need to some how keep a range of prices.

£500 did used to get the top class gpu now it doesn't it gets what people refer to as mid/high and end, which to me is insane

its an insane price for a GPU in my eyes, but for some its the pinical of gaming and a must have item. some will pay extraordinary prices to have the latest and greatest to be top of the bench marks.
in the end it dosnt matter because someone will always want to be top and will pay what ever they have to. wasn't the GTX 690 the first 1k GFX card. now £100 on egay.

They sell very few high end vs mainstream cards. They have the high end (both camps) for bragging rights and to entice people to buy more value (questionable) positioned products which generally have higher margins. It applies to all sections of sales, the reason you have a £12, £16 and £28 bottles of similar wine on a restaurant menu is to sell the higher margined £16 bottle.

The RTX Titan is a different story, at least you get a bigger active core and 24gb of very fast Samsung memory.

Oh i agree fully with you on the price creep that has gone on and it sucks. Hopefully the market will see a correction soon either driven by pricing people out of the gpu market, shareholder revolt or genuine competition in the space.
