Battery so dead - charger won't charge it

Highly recommend the CTEK chargers - they are intelligent so will monitor the battery and condition it where needed, just leave it plugged in. I use it on my MX5 during the winter when it has less use and have the quick connect thing so it takes 5 seconds to connect it & don't need to touch the battery itself.

it's this battery and carries a 5 year guarantee and i bought it in 2016 so i have contacted ECP for a replacement. i will from now on charge the battery every weekend or try and use the car more when i get the new battery.

Strictly speaking, you are not really entitled to a replacement under guarantee since you have broken it through neglect, Though you might get away with it.

+1 to a CTEK, got one myself a few months ago because my Scoob can sit around unused for months at a time. I used to go out every few weeks and connect a charger up, but this meant leaving the bonnet open and car unlocked. CTEK is a fit and forget charger and small enough that it can be tucked away in the engine bay allowing the car to be locked and secured.
