Just bought Google drive. 2tb. New to it.

Uploading about 230gb of videos.

Half or so failed to upload. Unable to schedule 189 files for upload it said. Screenshot attached.

Suddenly after about 20 minutes my phone said my internal memory is dangerously low and restarting may cause data loss.

I deleted a movie to provide space, around 2.5gb.

But I don't understand how the internal memory suddenly become full.
Screenshot attached.

Apps says Google drive is taking up 128gb or something. Screenshot attached.

I'm guessing Google drive duplicates the files in a temporary space then uploads them. Why? Am I right?
What's going on?

Thanks

Looks like I can't attach or insert images from my phone? Little help please.

Thanks

You'll need to host the image on imgur or similar to be able to post an image.

In the google photos app does it say you can free up space? It'll be in the side menu if so

I'm not sure in that case, I'm sure someone will come along with an answer.

Alternatively, have you tried Google's customer service?

Thanks for this had no idea there was support. Sad thing is they have 24/7 support but so far it hasn't been very good. They haven't gotten back to me multiple times now.

Basically they told me to use google photos saying that drive makes an offline copy on your device (which sounds made up.... my PC nor Macbook do that when I use GD on GC (Google Chrome).

So I'm using GP now (Google Photos), and it's really slow compared to GD.
