I mean lets say he leaves Barca...is United really out of the question? Theyd pay an absolute packet for him.

Why would he leave barca for remind me what have United done in the past 5 seasons?

Also paying big money for him now would be stupid he's only going to decline.

Van dijk on the other hand is proving to be the best signing of any premiership team since Ronaldo.

Yet united have maguire. I see him going to Liverpool ahead of united personally. But he would never leave barca he's been there for nearly 2 decades now.

United are done it's about time people stop thinking of their past and realise that they will never win the league any time soon.

Liverpool and City are 2-3 levels above them in every position.

now that son is injured why don't spurs do what Barca are doing and make an emergency signing?
Because Barca can only do so thanks to Spanish FA rules. English teams can only do so for specialised positions like a goalkeeper. As any outfirled player can play anywhere they're not allowed to do so.

Don't emergency loans exist in England? I thought that's how Middlesbrough got Shay Given.
Like I said, Goalkeeper is seen as a specialist position and clubs can apply in England for an emergency Goalkeeper. Outfield players are different. The FA sees any outfield position as not as specialised and clubs cannot make emergency signings of outfield players.

How is it with players who is free transfers? I thought they were ok to sign outside of the transfer window?
